The best Game of all time.. Beats Zelda Ocarina of time

Super Mario galaxy is another version of Super Mario 64, but in the Galaxy. IT's a great addition to the variety of Mario games since the very first mario series were released.

Now, 11 years later, Nintendo has finally released a full blown sequel to Mario 64, after the disappointing spin-off, Super Mario Sunshine, on the Gamecube.

STORY
Very simple for any age to understand. Brings back memories of previous mario games. We will keep the story at that. Play the game to find out!

GAMEPLAY
It is very similar to the Nintendo 64 version, but in a 3D Universe/galaxy feeling.

Some mini games are added into the mix. Makes the gameplay more interesting.

GAMEPLAY
Without a doubt, Galaxy is the best looking game on the Wii.

PROS
-SUPER Graphics are impressive for the Wii
-Easy for all ages

CONS
- Nauseating levels
- Awful storyline

Extraordinary game play. Excellent disc condition.

This game was my childhood, I am so happy that this disc is fully functional on my Wii Mini. The game itself has a very good story and the assortment of different levels you unlock as you travel through time and space is extraordinary and by far is the best Nintendo game I have ever played. What a time to be a child in!Read full review...

Arguably the best Mario adventure game of all-time!

Nintendo has always done a great job with their Mario games, but Super Mario Galaxy is probably their most innovative game ever! The graphics still look great all these years later and the game play is interesting as you have to use the Wii motion and both the controller and Nunchuk to navigate Mario. This Planet-hoping game is a must have for the Wii. Read full review...

Blast Off Mario!!

From the instance I started playing Mario Galaxy, I knew it was a classic! It served as an excellent introduction to the WII and the capabilities of the WII remote. Chalenging and fun for the family too! Mario spends a good part of the game upside down and dealing with gravity.

It will never replace the 2d 8bit games for an old school gamer like me, but it is definately a well thought-out progression of the Mario we all know. It's basically Mario World on steroids. The only down for me is I don't personaly enjoy having to beat a level multiple times which is required to get the 100%.

Graphics are excellent in my opinion. Planets are interesting and very colorful, true eye candy. The bosses put up a great fight and lots of the other enemies just get in the way. I recommend this game, but I would rather play Super Mario Bros. or Super Mario Bros. 3.

Different from the norm - But definitely addicting!

After reading other reviews, people tend to either completely love this game, or it just can't catch on with them. This is the first Mario game that takes place outside the Mushroom Kingdom and has more of a "real life" aspect to it - having to do with outer space and planets. I decided to just outright buy the game instead of rent, and that was a good choice.

The controls are outstanding. They keep it simple and use 95% of the old controls and moves from Super Mario 64 on Nintendo 64 - Which, in my opinion, was one of the best Mario games of all time! It's really easy to control Mario with the Nunchuk in the left hand, and use the remote to point a "star" on the screen and collect certain items on the screen. Two players can "play" at the same time, with the 2nd player using only a star pointer to collect items and freeze enemies, and they also can help Mario reach high places by "clicking" on him at his highest jump point to give him an extra boost. Now your friends don't have to sit and watch you play, they can help you too! The camera angle can't be changed a majority of the time, but Nintendo does a great job of keeping a good angle on you at all times - very rarely is the camera in a bad position.

The graphics are some of the best ones I've seen on Wii so far. It's entertaining to see how far Mario has come from the older systems! The component hi-def cables are highly recommended as there is a fairly noticable difference between the two, at least in my opinion. The hi-def cables round off the graphics and allow smoother animations to fully enjoy the graphics of this game.

The gameplay is very fun and addictive, as I've never had that repetitive feeling just yet. Each "star" you have to collect (121 in all) is a different mission. Nintendo really comes up with some creative ideas on using the systems functions and remote! Mario goes from planet to planet (instead of stage to stage) and each planet has it's own "theme". It makes me want to keep going in the game just to see what will come up with next!

Without giving anything away, I'll stop right there! It's definitely a little different than any other Mario game, but if you give it a chance most likely you won't stop playing! If you liked Super Mario 64, this is a MUST have for you! Very similiar, and some people even believe it to be a sequel!

A Good, Not Great, Super Mario Adventure

Maybe not quite as compelling as fellow 3D platformers Super Mario 64 or Super Mario Sunshine, the Super Mario Galaxy games are still brilliant games in their own right, with gorgeous graphics, charming storytelling and characterization, and genius level design. They may not have the sense of exploration and discovery of the best 3D Mario games, but they certainly have the same level of fun and ingenuity. Highly recommended!Read full review...

Galaxy by far another great Nintendo Hit

Super Mario Galaxy has taken the series of Mario games Nintendo has produced to a whole new level, or should I say, galaxy.

With stunning graphics and amazing user control, S.M.G (as I will refer to it from here on out) is by far one of the best games I have played in a while. At first, I was confused by the user manipulation, as I was getting dizzy watching Mario go in 3D movement on astroids and other planets. If you Mario fans can recall Super Mario 64, this was definitely a remake, but an excellent one none the less, of that game.

SMG has given the player the ability to enjoy a game that does have difficult passages, some of which can be EXTREMELY frustrating and hard to bypass. The game is designed to challenge the player unlike other Mario games could not; for example, using the Wii remote to point and pull objects towards Mario, or to do random things to the Mario or Luigi character.

The best part, I believe, is the length of the game. You are left with numerous amounts of challenges, levels, and the best part being that in order to actually beat the game fully, you must complete it with not only the Mario character, but also Luigi.

You must play the game for yourself to truly understand how much has been packed into this one CD. By far, I have enjoyed this game more than I can convey, and I am still working through it to complete every task the programmers set up for me. By all means, I would recommend this game to any Nintendo Wii owner.

Excellent Game Added To My Collection!

i kind of have a thing for Mario! I remember the very first Mario game I ever played on an old game system. I fell in love with Mario right then and there, This game makes me think about how far these games have come with better graphics and game play compared to a long time ago.
Just like then, I cannot put this game down once I start playing. I love the story line of this game and the graphics are really nice. The game play was a little challenging for me until I got used to using the nunchuck and the wiimote at the same time. I like the fact that it has the option for two players.

Super Mario Galaxy from a retro gamer

I have played and completed just about every Mario game from all 3 (main games) on nes, to snes, ds and more. I never thought anything would beat SMB3 for my favorite Mario game but this takes the cake. I am not the biggest fan of 3d Mario games but this raised the bar, not only for Mario but all 3d platformers. It has everything a classic Mario should have, with a new story (kinda), new long lasting characters, groundbreaking physics engine, and just plain old fun, exploration and challenge. As a father on the go, I really liked the pick up and play nature of the game. I could grab a wiimote, play for 15-20 minutes, save and go. It was super easy to just jump back in when ever I had a few minutes to spare, and it always left me wanting to come back for more. I have heard part 2 is even better an am sad I have not yet played it. Super Mario Galaxy is a must own for any Wii owner or Mario fame.Read full review...

My younger girls like this game.

Their favorite thing is practicing in the "observeikory" as they say it. They're not quite good enough at the game to collect any stars, but daddy plays for a while to help them.

One thing bothers me though, this game really proves how ridiculous the theory of gravity really is. It's mind-bending and complete fantasy, when Mario is walking on the ceiling or on walls. I can't believe this is taught in schools as fact, as if Australia was really up-side-down. We believe it because we are programed to believe it, but this game show how silly and unrealistic it really is. The earth is flat.Read full review...
