Very nice deck and speedy shipping.

I've been using Teac equipment for almost 50 years. This cd player sounds great, and reads all types of discs. It's compact, easy to use, and has a nice rc. I was worried about shipping. The unit arrived in excellent condition.Read full review...

Needed work

I bought this as an open box return, so I got it for like $85. shipped. It did not work at first. I had trouble getting the CD drawer to open up. I opened up the unit and found a few issues. The pulley on the motor was not in line with the driven pulley, so the belt was slipping. The tray had plastic burrs on the edges. I broke the edges and removed some casting flash. I found another interference problem with a protrusion that rides in a track to pop the drawer out the last little bit to fully open the drawer. After taking care of these problems the CD player works just fine.Read full review...

great value gets the job done

Teac is a reliable manufacturer who builds in high value for reasonable cost. This is a solid basic deck and great price that fits what I was looking for. I needed a CD player with good old fashioned RCA jack outputs, which is getting hard to find in "home" decks. The USB interface on this one is a bonus and perhaps in the future will be useful to us but I don't have an iPod and was disappointed that my Galaxy S5 is not recognized as a USB drive. That would have been a big bonus but since I needed a CD player first and foremost, it's no big deal. I put in a CD that an older machine does not track well (off center!), this one played it perfectly. Very low noise sound quality is good to my ears and I'm a sound professional. I'm happy!Read full review...

Competent and well built

A fantastic bit of kit. Easy to set up, an integrated anti-skate which is easy to use unlike the inferior Pro-ject in this price range which uses a fishing line and weight. You can change speed on the fly via electronic control, unlike Pro-Ject and others that you must physically change the belt upon a pulley. What's more, it uses a motor that has been used for decades and with a strobe disk you can adjust speed via two adjustment ports underneath. This was not even a consideration with the likes or Pro-Ject. The construction is first rate, and unlike Musichall and Pro-Ject, does not feel like something made in a high school woodshop. You can do no better than this little gem at this price other than vintage used. Don't listen to the snake oil salesmen on the web and youtube. This turntable is simply brilliant. It reminds me of my 1986 Rega Planar 3. Read full review...

Good sound, smooth operation

This was a floor model that I paid $75 for. Arrived in original packaging with no outer box, but there was no damage. At first I thought it was DOA, because the CD door would not open or close. After reading manual, I realized the red LED over the power switch lights up when the device is turned OFF. A peculiar design feature, but once you know it, all is okay.

Works smoothly and the sound is terrific through my NAD amplifier-- in which the built-in CD has failed. I can enjoy my classical CDs again!

I've had it for two weeks now. The only question now is how long it will last. But for the price and quality It seems worth the risk.

Its not working after 20 hours of use!!! the disc tray its no opening anymore

Just the old school CD player, unfortunately, its not working anymore, the tray its not opening anymore, only last 20 hours and stop working, it will be better if the device had autoplay while you just insert the CD, you have to wait until the disc gets read and then press play.
i will suggest to buy another brand.

iPod connection for digital output makes a BIG difference

I used to connect my iPod with a 3.5 mm to RCA cable to my receiver... sounds pretty good. But connect your iPod through this cd player's USB input makes a big difference. This sends the iPod's digital signal through the cd player instead of using the digital to analog converter (DAC) that's in the iPod itself and sending the analog signal. Maybe you wouldn't notice if you had a very cheap receiver and speakers, I don't know. I prefer to use an optical connection from the cd player to my receiver and use the DAC in my receiver, but the cd player itself is very good too. Seems to me that using the cd player's DAC and using analog connections leads to harsher highs than if I use a digital connection and use the DAC in my receiver. But that's a personal preference and may depend on my receiver and speakers vs. others. CD's play on this player that were skipping on my old cd player, so that works well too.Read full review...

A Great CD player for the price!

I have been experimenting/ testing several different CD players lately. It is obvious they all have their own sound. “M” brand sounds great, like it adds a silky smoothness to the music, but it clearly takes something off of the high end. This unit is more natural and clean. I would not say it over-hypes, but you are going to hear the cymbals and guitar-string/ finger noise nuances well. I’ve come to the conclusion that it such a subjective area, that it really just boils down to what you tend to like: if you like that “warmer” sound, (which, to me = Muddy), then this is prob not the player for you. If you like things open, clean, and pristine, then get this unit. You will not be disappointed. Simple, clean layout, no extra that you don’t need. Btw. I did not try out the USB stick function. Why would I have spent 2k on TEAC amp and speakers, and buying a single drawer CD player like I did when I was a teenager, to listen to MP3’s???? I have a smartphone for that! Happy Listening; you will like this player!Read full review...

Teac CD-P650-B Player with modern interfaces

I had acquired a lot of CD's over the years traveling while working. Most of my collection has to do with the period of time I grew up in. Classic Rock, Blues, Southern Rock Blues etc... I had a CD player I sort of brought back to life which work some of the time. It was a 6 disk type so I wanted to get away from that type. The Teac CD-P650-B seemed to be a good choice and it was highly rated on ebay from other buyers. So far it is working great and I am happy.Read full review...

Very Capable Disc Player

Had one of these in the past and was always pleased with its performance. It is easy to use, has a record feature allowing you to “rip” a CD to an MP3 file painlessly (single tracks or a whole disc), and allow for the use of an iPod or similar such player to play through the disc player to your system - a great convenience. Since I bought it again, needless to say I am pleased.Read full review...
