Awesome!! Antenna

So simple a cave man can do it.... SWR was on the money. I will be getting another for my other car.. Highly impressed with the quality and durability.. Assembly was easy and shipping was super fast.. I have it mounted to the step bumper on my 07 Nissan Titan and it works great..Read full review...

Broadband antenna. Right choice for 10m Ham/CB operator.

Attached to 3-magnet mount on trunk of sedan via the 3/8" connection that is standard to 99% of CB antennas. This antenna might be too big for a 5 inch magnet(?). I'm nearly 6ft and can't reach the top when it's mounted on the car at waist level. I really wanted this antenna for it's wide bandwidth. I get <2:1 SWR from just below CB channel 1 (26.965) to above 28.500 (top end of Ham technician band). This let's me use this antenna for both 10m Ham and CB while mobiling around (work DX and monitor local road conditions). If you were going to use this for strictly 10m, it should nearly cover the whole band (you'll need to trim the whip). I'll never be able to push it to a 1,000W, so no idea if it handles 5kW. It receives great. I get great reports from the locals while mobiling. The 'thin' wire coil may actually be a better design than some of the much thicker aluminum coils I've seen for 15kW-20kW (I've seen at least one picture where one of these thicker coils sheared - I imagine from antenna impact, cold weather, and vibration). I think this wire coil is more flexible and will survive longer. This antenna replaced a Lil Wil antenna that has issues with moisture getting into the base and below freezing weather (signals are attenuated? lose resonance? bad connections?). I suspect, with the exception of having to knock some ice out of the big coil during a rare Oklahoma ice/snow storm, I won't have any issues with this antenna.

However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It may not have sex appeal unless you are a radio enthusiast. I'll be cutting it close when it comes to parking garages and drive thru's in terms of clearance (it's no 102 inch whip ... but it's no Lil Wil either). Everything is a compromise. Price vs performance vs size. You can't get all three, but I feel like I found an acceptable compromise for my needs.

Tram WSPSP63 Penetrator antenna

I mounted this awesome antenna to my trunk lid using a Tram magnet mount. This is a great combination. Very good SWR. It has two set screws instead of the usual one, very well built antenna and looks cool with that chrome coil. All the flex is in the whip. The coil is not a spring. The only draw-back, if you call it that, is everybody will know you have a radio in your car. You can spot this antenna a long way off. I had a K-30 for several years previously and think this antenna has about half again the range on average. The farthest I've talked so far was with a friend 9 miles away car-to-car and he has the same set-up. We both think if we could both park on a hill we could talk 15 miles under the right conditions. Well worth the money. Read full review...

High DB gain's!

The gain in d.b.'s was good and memorable. I am a former Truck Driver and covered a lot of this country in the 80's-late-90's. I had tried a lot of antenna's, and the performance was kind of like so-so! I saw the Penetrator Style Antenna and read the literature. I purchased 2 for my 1984 Mack Truck, had them matched to my Cobra 148GTL. I was very happy with the performance of the Co-phased Antennas. My range on when I hit the Highway most of the times was as far as 40 miles in front of me, because my antenna setup was in essence a Directional Antenna which is what I wanted to avoid getting speeding ticket's! My most memorable performance with the setup I had was when I was in Collingwood,Ontario, Canada. I turned my Tractor in the direction of the loudest Skip running and managed to hold a signal and transmit to Kingston, Jamaica! I have not driven a Tractor Trailer Rig for a very long time, but with all the negativity going on, I need some sort of Communication in case "OUR POLITICIANS DECIDE ONLY THINK OF THEMSELVES AND NOT THE COUNTRY AS ONE!"Read full review...

Well built, Functions well

This antenna functions well on the 18 wheeler I drive. I had an issue with the antenna light coming on with fiberglass antennas I tried. that problem was eliminated with the SP-63 Tram. Signal is clear and crisp. This antenna was very reasonably priced !Read full review...

Great antenna for the price!!

I’m using this antenna with a galaxy DX949 cb on a 2017 mack tractor it was dead on with the SWR’s right out of the box. Would highly recommend to anyone for a good antenna at a great price.
