Tamiya Putty -

Every plastic model builder has his or hers own favorite putty... And every brand putty has their fans...

I have tried them all and from my point of review one putty is not better than another!
They all contains the same ingredients!

Any how brand You use, use it sparsly!
Several thin layers with sanding between every layer... If You is not satisfied and putty has spread to much You can simply remove it with denatured alcohol or pure alcohol!
Nice and easy! And You will may be thinning Your putty with the same stuff as above.

Tamiya Putty dries quickly and sand easely!

Highly recommended!

It has potential.

First off, if you need to fill scratches and fine cracks, it works. If you want to fill gaps or deep scratches..not so much. You have to give it time to cure before working or sanding. I let it cure overnite for best results. It is paintable, and you can mix paint into it to make textures or color fill scratches. Seems to work okay in thin coats. It is nearly liquid, and can be applied with a brush. Thicker coats seem to show significant shrinking. Depends on what you want it to do. I am still experimenting with it.Read full review...

A Modeler's "must have" Product

Very fine-grained and it works up well. It sands easily and it provides a really smooth finish for such things as model wing fillets. My only complaint -- and it's a minor one -- is that the tube neck is pretty wide, so laying down a thin bead in a hard-to-reach place is not easy.

Putty those seams...

I have, in the past, found it difficult to find a plastic putty medium that works the way I'd like. Usually shrinks too much or is brittle. I decided to try Tamiya's putty on my Polar Lights Romulan Warbird... large seams for the primary hull. The putty went on smooth and very little shrink! Dried tough and easily sanded. Did not require a second application.

Thanks Tamiya!

Putty Review

Good stuff. Thinner than others. Slower drying time but acceptable. If used over newly painted surfaces it will dissolve the new paint.

Putty

Tamiya White putty is a very fine finish putty suitably as a top coat before priming and finish paint. Excellent product.
