Great product and great price. Will be able to take portraits and street photography. Great quality and great pictures. Great all around lens.

After testing out the lens it has a great picture quality and is well worth the money I have a lot of Tamron lenses. There were a lot of other lands that I could have bought but I love this focal length and it is good for all around photos be it street photography or portrait or family pictures even landscape it's a great all around lens and the price is great I would recommend this to anyone.Read full review...

Great for everyday photography, but autofocus may turn away video shooters

The Tamron 35 mm F/2.8 Di III OSD M1:2 lens for Sony is a great walk-around lens for general photography, particularly wider angle street photography and environmental portraits. It's very compact, light, and surprisingly sharp as Tamron has come a very long way in quality, at least since my early days shooting with their Canon superzoom lenses.

As with most, if not all, third party Sony lenses, autofocus does take a bit of a hit. This lens tends to hunt for focus in low light, though not frequently enough to be a major inconvenience. Also, the autofocus does make a whirring sound that is noticeable on video, so this lens may not be a good fit for video shooters, in which case sticking to native Sony glass may be the best option.

As far as photography is concerned, this is a solid lens that gives you sharp, clean images at a much more affordable price than the Sony-Zeiss 35 mm lenses.

Great little lens

The Tamron di iii is a pleasant surprise. It’s fairly sharp, renders well, and is really light. The focus isn’t perfect but it’s not slow either. Always hits accurately but a tad noisy.

Clearly, this isn’t up to the performance of a Batis 40mm or a sigma 35 1.2, but it’s better than 300 bucks too....

Again, today’s lenses are sharper and better than most photographers too..

Nice lens, well worth the money

I give this lens 5 stars because of the price, Is it a G master lens? No it's not, but it's very good and sharp,
the close focusing is also a big plus for this lens, focusing is a bit slow but not that bad, I bought it for street shooting on my a7rII and after shooting it this weekend I'm very pleased. super light and I love the
lens hood.

Good Product for a Photographer! Not Videographer!

It's a good product, just not a lens for a videographer and more for a photographer. Wasn't able to return and will work with it!
