As a sharpener it's OK - but that's it!

I found that this sharpener is no better than many others I have tried. It's OK. But that is all!

It seems to be designed as an attempt to simulate simultaneously sharpening both sides of a knife blade with a butcher's steel but, sadly, it doesn't do a very good job. It seems to grind, rather than hone, the edge.

For me, the one that always comes out on top is the old-fashioned butcher's steel. It's quicker, better and far more effective.Read full review...

I used to use one of the 'wheels' sharpeners but visiting a friend, saw him use one of these and I was sold! So simple, but it works. Nice sharp knives!
