YOU, ME, AND DUPREE --- with a teddy bear.

Is TED the most original movie ever? Well, if you replace the teddy bear with a human being, it's YOU ME AND DUPREE. Boy becomes a man but his efforts at being a grown-up are thwarted by the constant presence of his imnmature best friend. His love interest issues an ultimatum: get rid of the friend or she'll leave. Can the guy make this difficult choice or can the three of them learn to get along? Of course, since Ted is a teddy bear rather than a human, the movie is sillier and funnier than the average buddy film, as well as being a glaringly obvious metaphor. What says "immaturity" like a guy who can't live without his teddy bear? Of course, this teddy bear has sex, drinks beer, and smokes weed. Some people no doubt will find this horribly inappropriate. Personally, I'd rather my teens watch a teddy bear do these things (they are smart enough to realize it's a joke) than watch humans do these things. If you don't get the joke --- basically, if you find FAMILY GUY obscene or disgusting --- it's best to avoid TED. Otherwise, if you appreciate satirical humor and realize that simply DEPICTING something is not the same as ENDORSING it, then TED offers a positive message as well as some laugh-out-loud moments.Read full review...

Ted( Blue-Ray Disc, 2012, 2-Disc Set; Ultraviolet)

***MINIMAL SPOILERS***

Writer/Director Seth MacFarlane has a funny comedy here. Based on an absurd premise that a young boy's Teddy Bear to be wished to be a living life-long friend, the comedic antics that follows are laughable.

Mark Wahlberg plays John Bennett, and when he gets older, wants to be with hottie Lori Collins, played by the nice-looking Mila Kunis, the conflict begins when Lori does not want to include Ted in their "future" life together.

This movie was Nominated by the People's Choice Award Board for the Category of a Favorite Comedic Movie.

2 words "SETH MACFARLANE"

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane brings his boundary-pushing brand of humor to the big screen for the first time as writer, director and voice star of Ted. In the live action/CG-animated comedy, he tells the story of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear who came to life as the result of a childhood wish...and has refused to leave his side ever since.Read full review...

TED is entertaining, but a little annoying

Good video--missed the original movie. However, not a library keeper.

Surprisingly delightful, a gas. Absolutely believable. Funny

Surprisingly delightful, a gas. Absolutely believable.

A bit of a spoof, but Wahlberg is excellent at pulling it off.

I wouldn't have picked it, but my friends talked me into seeing it, and yes... it was truly funny.

Lots of rank/raw politically incorrect joke. And Flash was pretty cool too.

Heartwarming end.

Man and his teddy bear have funny and sappy moments

This movie was funny. Then again what does one expect from the creator of "Family Guy" and "American Dad"? I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. A grown man still had his teddy bear from his childhood. But this is not any ordinary bear. It is alive. Together they bond over beer and "Flash Gordon". It has its moments that could make one laugh until their sides burst. Yet it has a few sappy moments that could make one say "awe'.Read full review...
