Good router for 2 months until it decides to brick. No support from Tenda on eBay!
I got this Tenda AC18 router new, it had good features and intuitive web UI. I got it because I upgraded to 150mb fiber connection that was bottlenecked by my previous old Linksys router. It worked great for 2 months, then it bricked out of nowhere.
Didn't drop it, didn't drop liquid on it, didn't get a power surge (was on UPS power)...it just failed. Just the power light comes on, and connected lan port light comes on. Wifi is gone, blinking sys light gone, no packets.
Somehow it came back up a few days later, but next day it bricked again and has been bricked for the last 9 months. No amount of reset-button fiddling has worked even with the 45 seconds per on/off/on state sequence, except the sys light comes back on solid and doesn't change until unplug.
Tenda does not honor RMA's for their items bought on eBay and is slow to respond to emails. If you must buy their brand, make sure you get a Squaretrade warranty, avoid Assurant at all cost.Read full review...

The right router
I wanted to rid myself from rental fees for a modem and router or a combination thereof. I tried a couple of brands without the results I was expecting. I purchased this unit with a good rating and it is working well so far. It was relatively easy to set up and I get a strong signal throughout my home. Includes USB 3.0, dual core processor with 256MB DDR3, and gigabit ports. Very full featured and great WiFi speeds. The case was inspired by the B2 bomber. Make sure to update the firmware.

Excellent Router Don't let the price fool you
I did A LOT of research on routers. I looked at ASUS, Netgear, Jetstream and many others. I bought this as a secondary router to my ASUS RT-66U. After receiving it and setting it up I immediately decided to make this primary router. The interface is super intuitive and has several advanced functions. The only downside is that the antenna can't be replaced - why would that be necessary anyway? Their user guide is well written. Don't spend more money on a router that has the same functionality - Tenda did a great job here. The Admin console is excellent and has many built in functions for basic and professional administration. Excellent and intuitive security functions,.
