Great mix of electronic music and rock with the charming Sharleen Spiteri

This is surely my first favourite album from Texas. At this point the band decided to use not just the clasic rock structure and sound of the songs but also a bit of electronic touch. The album can be divided into the downtempo/ambient parts and the rockier parts with a touch of pop.

From the chillout radio friendly "Say what you want" to the energetic "Black Eyed boy". All connected together with the haunting downtempo/broken beat "Put your arms around me". The whole record takes adult alternative rock approach and manages to stay balanced all the way. "Polo mint city" lasts just over a minute, but it delivers the proper atmosphere to the album along with ambient "0,34" and "0,28". While "Halo" will kick you with it's energy and powerful vocals.

This is definitely a specific/non generic record full of typical Texas lyrics sounds and character. Along with the beautiful and strong vocals from Sharleen Spiteri you will surely fall in love with it. And in the end you can move on to even better album "The Hush" that continues in the ambiency and calmness of this record.

Texas- White on Blonde (CD 1997)

I absolutely love this CD, I always wanted to buy it first time around but missed the opportunity, so I am very pleased to be given the chance again and such a fantastic bargain in perfect condition too. All the songs are digitally enhanced with crystal clear clarity, the lyrics are easy to sing along too and the music, is just timeless and a joy to listen too at work or play.Read full review...

Trip down memory lane

I played this album to death when it first came out and am now revisiting it with a newly purchased CD. I find the music very easy listening and can be good to have a good worble to.
I don't think the music has dated, so if you are coming new to this album, I would say "Go for it and enjoy".Read full review...
