The California Kid
OK, I admit it, I'm a car enthusiast. More to the point, a gearhead. This movie was made back when I was younger gearhead. I've owned it on VHS tape, and had a copy that had been transferred to DVD. It recently gave up on me. In the prcess of bemoaning my bad luck, I happened to come across a copy in Blu-Ray format. I had recently purchased a Blu-Ray player, so I thought it would be a good time to step up. I'm glad I did. The quality isn't as good as more modern transfers, but it's as good as I've ever seen this movie. Solid performances by a young Martin Sheen and the late Vic Morrow highlight this film about a young man out to avenge his brother's death at the hands of a corrupt town sheriff of a speedtrap town. You'll also spot Nick Nolte and Michelle Phillips in the cast. All in all, if you enjoy hot rods, you'll probably like this movie. Enjoy.Read full review...

Great quality blue-ray movie. Had no problems playing. Great picture. Great audio. Had I not known any better, would have thought this movie was made last year.
Excellent film, it tells it like it used to be.
This is a 50's type movie where the good guy has a rod and is hounded by a bad cop. I enjoyed it very much.Martin sheen plays a very good part.
