Inspiring film with good morals & goals

It came to me loose in the case & rattling around; when I opened the case & inspected the disc, the entire playing surface is scratched by its not being held in place. Fortunately, it played, which is a tribute to the technology, but I am concerned about it working in the future, or in another DVD player. My advice would be to make sure the next one is securely in place, say, with a small foam piece, even if you have to open the wrap.

Buy this only if you've never read the book. Then get the book.

I am one who dearly appreciates the writings of C.S.Lewis. Having said that, perhaps the gentle reader may sense my supreme disappointment in the gutting of "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader". While no movie is ever "like the book", there's a certain amount of fidelity to the theme and story line that must be had to wear the title of any such work, especially in the nuances of C.S.
Don't get me wrong, the CG was quite good, the story semi-heroic and all, but it wasn't "The Voyage". I guess Hollyweird just can't bring itself to accurately portray anything so obviously "Christian" as the redemptive tale of Eustace the Dragon, who had to be freed of his dragon nature by One who could and by no effort of his own. Just one of the many sidesteps made in this film.
The Voyage is not a complete disaster, thus the 2 stars. But be informed, those of you who love Lewis' works, it ain't anywhere near Lewis' stature.Read full review...

These are the best ever movies.The Voyage of the Aswan Treader is dragon and sea monster graphic so very young children may get scared but teens and adults love it!

Movie is OK - unless you understand the book

In it's own right the 3rd Narnia movie is good, but if you've read the book, and worse - if you understand the book - the movie is a complete disaster. It could have been so much better. Hollywood clearly didn't understand it - or perhaps they did and simply opposed Lewis' message. Anyway, they introduced the "seven swords" and all sorts of random foolishness and conflict which make the profound message of the book nonsense. If only Hollywood wasn't populated by perverted weirdos. The technical quality of the movie is terrific, but, oh, what it could have been.Read full review...
