a must have for Van Briggle collectors

It's too bad this book is so out of date, but still it's a must have if one is starting to collect Van Briggle. There is helpful info on history, bottom markings, glazes and pricing. Many people selling on ebay and the like are misinformed when it comes to dating their pieces and it is important for novice collectors to have at least a basic knowledge of the pottery and this book can help get one started. The pictures are small and detail can be hard to decipher. I can't say the pictures do the beauty of Van Briggle any justice. The pricing chapter can help give a ballpark on value but again this book was published in 1992. It is a decent reference book that desperately needs updating.Read full review...

The book is very informative and very useful when buying van briggle. Buy far the best book to have. It descibes and shows, in detail the marks used and also the time period when produced.
