GREAT book - a really must have!!!!

An EXCELLENT book - one that all kitchens should have. It shows you basic recipies with BASIC ingredients, no need to scour the supermarket isles looking for special things. Explained in an easy, straight forward way, (even I could understand!!!) and I call it my new testament, as it is as valuable as a bible in this house - it's my cooking bible!!! My mum who passed away about 13 years ago gave me a similiar book (this is a more updated version) and although it is a bit battered and tattered I've still kept it and I refer to that one as my old testament!!! :) EVERYONE should have a copy of this in their kitchen as well as giving tasty recipies, it is VERY informative and educational giving you advice on which cut of beef to choose e.t.c. My mum had the first edition when I was a boy. She gave as a present a copy of this edition to my wife many years ago and now we have bought this one for my daughter. Great, no fuss cookbook. An excellent guide to basic cooking.

I have lost count as to how many copies of this book I have purchased. My mother bought me a previous edition in the sixties. I have taught my daughters, grand children and neighbours children with the aid of the book. An excellent basic guide to home cooking with easy to understand recipes.
