The Desert Song was good for its time in cinema history.
The story of course is very outdated, and at times, politically incorrect, and I knew it would be. However the music score is beautiful as most of these early musicals are. I saw this as a young girl with my grandmother probably 60 years ago and loved the romance of it. In future, I might purchase just the music score or CD if possible, as the storylines, costumes (particularly the ladies underwear) and makeup are excruciatingly garish to watch! I do not think my granddaughters would like it.Read full review...
