Well-done & Comical

This movie is so much fun. The storyline flows smoothly from one situation to another. Even tho Bette Midler is a scene-stealer (IMHO) Diane Keaton steals this movie. She stands out. But Goldie Hawn is no slouch. The cameos were fun to see, from Rob Refiner to the late Ivana Trump. This movie is fun to watch. First Wives Club will leave you wondering if you should stop after marrying once.

Considering the date this was filmed, it remains an excellent female revenge film with some of my favorite actresses. Hilarious!

Three divorcing wives lose a best friend to suicide. When reunited at the funeral they find themselves reminiscing. All three eventually find out they’re divorcing their husbands. Once the ladies start growing close they get a game plan for each husband due to the fact all three divorcing men had somehow wronged them during or after the divorce. One is a self indulged movie star with lots of money. She had married her producer to find it was only for her status. Once she wasn’t a big star anymore. He left, dating younger woman and gaining the business they started together. The other a wife of a man that owns his own appliance store. Leaving saying she was boring. He starts dating a young Sarah Jessica Parker feeding her expensive gifts while leaving her and her son struggling. The other lady is a stay at home mom that has self esteem issues and allows her husband to keep using her, leading her on while dating the therapist she paid to save their marriage. All woman combine between them they have funds, a workshop, and a plan. They get even while making a name for themselves as independent woman. Finding dirt on each ex to get what they need to blackmail them so they can Open a business (in honor of their friend whom committed suicide) for helping batter, suicide woman. The story line is hilarious. Watching them, and their growth, strength, the beauty of friendship and how life shouldn’t get in the way of sisterhood. The scandals will have you rolling on the floor. Fantastic movie that will never get old. Just great!

I watched this movie the first time in the theater. I knew instantly I would keep it as one of my classic never gets old movies. I had it on VHS, and now have updated it to DVD.
Its three women joining together after the death of a friend for support, strength and understanding. They get so much more and revive their friendships.
Three women taking different life avenues, coming back together and realizing how much they have in commom. Its funny, uplifting and entertaining.Read full review...

HYSTERICAL & GREAT PERFORMANCES FROM GREAT CAST!!!

I have this in the VHS form but I wanted it on DVD. I watch it over and over when a need a good "out loud" laugh. Diane Keaton, Bette Midler, and Goldie Hawn have such great chemistry in this movie - they're all a bit "touched" but they set out to do something and they succeed well above their expectations!

It's such a funny movie yet it sends a message at the same time...don't get mad...get even and then some.

If you buy it, you'll find yourself watching it over and over - it's truly that sensational!!!

best breakup movie ever

This movie is hilarious for anyone who watches it, but it's highly recommended for anyone who is going thru a break up and it heartbroken about it or angry. :) It will make you feel better as soon as you watch it. Not only will you laugh out loud multiple times, but you may also get some good ideas of how to get even with your ex. haha. Love the all star cast in this too, trust me you won't be disapointed.
