Up there with 'Master and Commander, a tad more lusty and colourful perhaps...

This series is the 2nd best of all the historical fictions set in the Royal Navy of our great great grandfathers day. This one actually goes well and beyond being just another third rate wooden clone of O'Brians masterpiece, like the tedious odious dribble contained in Stockwins abysmal Kydd series for example.
