Miniature Food Sculpting

Learning about new applications for decorating sculpting clay can be found in this idea packed book. The first chapter "Clay Cookery Basics" has so many ways to color the clay, worth the price of the book. These ideas can be applied to anything you want to make with oven baking clay, in addition to food. Chapter 2 is all about jewelry making, easy to follow instructions beginners will be able to follow. My favorite chapter is about "Holiday Goodies"with valentines hearts, halloween candy corn,Thanksgiving pumpkin pie, sugar cookies and gingerbread people cookies. I think teens and up will love this book for making gifts for friends. Every page is packed with instructions and color pictures with step by step break downs of each stage of the sculpture. This is a great book to include in a gift basket with some clay and tools for beginner sculptors, and a "get Well" gift for those with restricted mobility.

I am a sculpture artist and have found this book to be enlightening, adding new ideas and combining coloring effects I never thought of before. Every subject pictured can be made in any size, from miniature to life size. I used it to make x-mas ornaments, and gift tie ons for my gift wrap ribbons. This book is a good addition to my studio library. I am very happy I bought it. ;)

Polymer Clay Cookbook

This is a great book. My family and I have been loyal purchasers of Jessica & Susan's fantastic 'Inedible Foods' jewelry for years - both in Charlottesville and Northern Va. The new book is colorful, full of great tips and methods, and extremely detailed. Having limited experience with polymer clay myself, I learned a great deal.
