This movie has it all. Excellent story/screenplay, excellent directing and excellent acting. Leonardo de Caprio definitely deserved his Best Actor Award......but, we are amazed that Tom Hardy did not receive Best Supporting Actor. We cannot get enough of Tom Hardy. He is completely different, in every aspect, in every one of his movies. This movie in Blu Ray was really beautiful. The forests, mountains, rivers, waterfalls.....all were magnificent in Blu Ray.. We also are fans of the early 70's "Man in the Wilderness" with Richard Harris and John Huston, so are now particularly pleased that each movie is so different. While the storyline of this movie has been done before, it has never been done with such beauty as this picture portrays. The direction and camera work of this movie is perfect. This movie is awesome. DiCaprio is hard to recognize with the long hair,beard, and open wounds. I do not know how any human could keep going after ALL he endured. The effects in this movie are spectacular. The flying arrows will made you duck behind the chair. I watched this film on a 100 inch screen with surround sound.
