Game wouldn't read

As soon as I got the game in the mail I looked at the disk and there was a nice big scratch on it. I decided to try it anyways and sure it didn't work. Couldn't read the disk...supposed to be a bday present to myself and it sucked. Read full review...

Great installment, but lack of online interaction is very disappointing.

I have always been a fan of The Sims series, this game reminds me of why I've stuck with the games since the very beginning. The most customizable Sims game yet, especially with the option to download items and clothing made by other players while you're in-game, you can literally spend hours just creating your sim! The graphics are great, the game loads quickly, and I haven't had any problems with the online parts of the game.

It's really a great installment to the series, but there are some things that I was disappointed with. I don't like the "Karma Powers" aspect, I think that it's way too complex, at least for someone like myself who just wants to jump in and control something's life without having to monitor a billion things at once (I'm not talking about the status of your sim; I.E: hunger, happiness, etc). I wish that they would've stuck to just Dreams and Aspirations, but that's just me. I was also extremely disappointed with the fact that you couldn't play with your sim online. If you're looking for a game to play online with friends, this is not your game! I could look past all of the other things that I didn't like about the game if it did have the online multiplayer option but oh well.

It's still a great game to kill hours with (literally, when you first put it in you will spend what seems like hours just reading all of the tutorials) and I'm excited to see what comes next for the series. :D

Fun Game

I've always been a big fan of the Sims Series (from 1,2,bustin out, and many more)

And i still continue to find it a great game that's still just fun and hilarious to play! (with family or friends) Being able to create a lil sim of your own (rather its yourself or someone else) its fun to watch them grow, age, party, and help them reach their own goals. custom clothes, custom houses/mansions you can build/enlarge/shrink or whatever you want to your OWN image.

Though, they seemed to have removed the co-op feature in Sims 3. (which kinda made me a bit disappointed...my family and i enjoy playing sims together and having fun) But it still remains a fun and interesting game even through single player. (though you can still swap and download user-made content online which i think is pretty cool)

I give the game a 4/5 and would recommend it to those who enjoy fun (rather online or by themselves)

Sims are running the show

If you have played the PC version of this game, then you already know how great this is.. Highly addictive and lots of fun.Putting this out on X-box did not hurt the game. The graphics are very sharp and clear. Game play is great for controller. Sims still have no real voice....Kinda strange.. The story is what you make it.
When you play this for the first time its best you start with just one sim. Unlike older versions, you can follow sim into town or work and interact with business and people.Your sims will age and die, as long as you have age progression turned on. The whole story line is what you make it. House building tools that allow you to fully build houses or landscape. The only limitations to your building will be the money and imagination. As luck would have it most sims like to work and they make true sim fantasy money (up to thousands a day). No online play but they have created a sims exchange so you can use other peoples ideas and put it in your game or upload your own creations for others to marvel. Bound only by your imagination. The story creates itself or you can try to force it. This is one player only but you can control multiple sims.
This game is highly addictive for a simple to play game. Its loaded with fun and challenge. Give this game an hour and it will consume days. This gets my Red Eyes, Two Sore Thumbs Award !!!!!!!

Good, but not Great~!

I own every Sim game ever made.
Sims is simply a classic simulation game for anyone.
But I'll admit when it came to 3, I was a tad bit disappointed.
There is no co-op, nor is there an option where your joystick becomes
the movement of the sim.

I was impressed with the details of the characters, and the many options.
And karma was a nice new option, too. But I just didnt feel the thrill of hard
challenges, like leveling up in jobs or completing tasks for other sims in the games that I usually felt with the Sim series. Just felt like:
I lived...and died. And thats all.

I also completed all the challenges in two weeks...that says alot.
Too easy? Perhaps.

Huge Step Up

The Sims 3 is a huge step up from previous games. It boasts improved graphics and features (such as the karma powers), and still remains the fun, micromanagement type game that we all have come to accept from this series of games.
My only complaint that I feel should be mentioned is that in The Sims 3 2-player mode has been completely removed. That doesn't make this a bad game by any means, and even with the step back in the multiplayer department this game is still amazing.
Overall I give it a 4 out of 5 and I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys this series.

Re-create your home life on Sims 3.

I bought this game for my Daughter for her 13th birthday. She always wanted a "real-life" video game. This seemed like it might fit the bill well and when I gave it to her, I realized that it did! She re-created our whole family and made it work out so it was all pretty close to our real homelife and it worked out kind of funny but it taught her a new style of game and allowed her to have some real life scenarios in a video game. You need to get a job, save money and buy things that you will need every day like a bed or a car. You will need to go to the bathroom and take a shower in this game too. It is pretty funny how it works out. I saw her go to her neighbors and have a barbeque once! So it could be pretty cool if you like this kind of game. I think that this game would be great for a young teenager. If I had the time to sit and play this game all day I would probably try it out and create a small town or something. Maybe have it mimic my own town. I guess the options for what you create are pretty-much limitless with this game. Enjoy!Read full review...
