shame she didnt live to see this album
these recordings were found and released not long ago. florence sang lead in the supreme early days and its not hard to see why .some of the tracks are hit material and no wonder she was seen by diana ross as a threat.she has a different style as does mary wilson.but its a winning style.its a shame she was sacked .she could have been a huge solo success on her own.the album has some catchy stuff on it her first song it doesnt matter how i say it was included on an albums of top female singers including gladys knight and martha reeves and dionne warwick so there you have it.avery good buy i feel.Read full review...
The Supreme: Essential by Florence Ballard CD, Jun-2001
I am a big fan of The Supremes and have heard Flo sing some of the songs on YouTube and hence, I wanted to get the CD. I am NOT disappointed whatsoever. The music is relaxing and you can understand what the words are that she is singing and she sings on key, something you don't hear much anymore. The songs show Flo's strength as a singer.
