This film is unique in today’s commercial, violent, dumbed-down offerings for youth. Despereaux is heartrendingly convincing. I believe many young people will be relieved at his captivating virtue. There are too few uplifting models for youth In the media today. It’s just not cool…

The animation is stunning, The detail has not been seen before in this venue. Generally reserved for adult audience. This film respects the youth it appeals to by presenting an incredible animation. Absolutely lets them know they are worth it.

The Tale of Despereaux

I love this movie because it has clean humor, something hard to find these days. It is a quality movie that doesn't compromise morals and standards. I originally bought this for my four year old brother, but I find myself watching it just as much as he does. Compared to other movies, this is definitely a steal. Cute family movie for a night in

I bought this movie because I loved the book, and I wanted to see Emma Watson in something besides Harry Potter. The movie starts off in a land where soup is prized above everything, and is banned when the queen dies. This tale continues along a journey about mouse that has no fear and saves a beautiful princess, and his rat friend who come to terms with his feelings. I remembered loving this movie and now I own it! I watched it recently and it was just as heartwarming this time around.

A real gem

This movie was a real surprise. In a time when many kids movies are focused on how to take the easy way out, this movie talks about honor and courage and bravery even when it's hard. A very entertaining movie with a solid storyline. Good voice-over cast brings substance to the well animated characters. Your children and you will will all enjoy this movie. I purchased this DVD for my daughter. We saw this movie in the theatres and it one we needed to own. It is a tweak on the traditional princess / hero story. It is a bit dark in some parts which might be scary to small children but has a great story of love of family and pride in oneself no matter who or what you are.Read full review...
