The author does a great job of keeping the simple story moving. It is predictable in parts of it, but then it changes gears quickly. Occasionally it was frustrating because of the dog's limmited capacity to handle situations. Also there are some unappreciated four-letter words too. Life from the Dogs point of view...

Loved this book. Had one time where it got me, wasn't expecting it...I imagine it will you too..Enzo, the dog, is the voice of the book..Life with his race car driver Denny and his wife and child...A little heavy sometimes on the racing references, in fact that is where the title of the book comes from, but overall, a must read..If you a race fan or not, is worth the read..Later on in the book, you won't want to put it down...Read full review...

The Art of Racing in the Rain

An absolutely fabulous book that chronologizes the life of a dog seen through the eyes of the dog. It's written by the dog (or so the author wants us to believe) and chronicles his life when he looks back on it. Tells of the emotions he believes his owners have. Just one of the best books I've ever read. I gave it to my 39 year old son to read while he was recovering from foot surgery, and he said it was very hard to put it down. I even bought two extra books on e-bay so I could pass them on to others to read.Read full review...

A good book to read when your losing your best friend.

My sister bought this book for me right after my soulmate dog Lily passed away from cancer . I've since loaned the book to another dog lover in mooring . which was not returned oh well
