Really enjoyed this movie when I was a child. I remember the interaction of the boys with John Wayne and it really seemed like they were really enjoying themselves. They rode horses while putting on a pretty good performance. Working with the kids seem to really energize John Wayne. Not the best actor in the world however he certainly wasn't the worst. John Wayne and co-star Roscoe Lee Browne on chuck wagon. Plus 11 Greenhorn teens herding Cattle 400 miles to market from Montana to South Dakoda. Plus fighting Rustlers like co-star Bruce Dern. It is what it says with one exception

I like the story line with kids becoming responsible and going beyond their responsibilities. I didn't like that the boys took it upon themselves to take revenge and murder. I'm just one opinion. I would suggest people watch it and judge for themselves. All in all entertaining, but I liked some of John Waynes other movies better.Read full review...

excellent movie

This is a great classic movie, and I don't even like westerns!! I would recommend this film to anyone. It has the best of everything from John Wayne, to kids, bad guys, humor, sorrow, and triumph.

Must see movie for any John Wayne fan!

This DVD was a Christmas gift for my aunt. The Cowboys is one of her favorite movies. I remember watching this movie at her house when I was a young girl. Now that she has the DVD, I hope to watch it again the next time I visit her.Read full review...
