Excellent gameplay to balance the deeply thematic and poetic storyline.

This game is absolutely phenomenal. Highly poetic story, deeply thematic, and full of meaning. Not to mention a tight gameplay system to match. Tense and highly strategic encounters have you navigating a broken and breaking world being reclaimed by nature, battling bands of "tourist-hunting" outlaws, infected humans, fungi-parasitized humans that can kill on contact, and heavily armed and fortified soldiers; all within a highly realized post-apocalyptic world that consistently proves rewarding to explore.

Graphics: 9.5/10 (Slight hiccups and pop-in from time to time, normal video game stuff to any seasoned vet, but nothing to upset the overall audio-visual astonishment the game provides. Absolutely amazing audio, voice acting, and soundtrack. This is a highly realized yet deeply dystopian, stylized, and adult story that will stay with you for years after completion.)

Gameplay: 9/10 (Tight and fair system, punishing the rushed and rewarding the attentive and observant; makes you work and scavenge to build your survivalist arsenal -- you will be skating by on very few resources so scavenging is a must. EVERY BULLET, EVERY SWING COUNTS, and so every material scavenged that goes toward crafting the necessary to survive counts. Interactions with the environment feel truly emotional and timeless, while interactions with enemies are intense and risky. Any one encounter with any one enemy can realistically end in death for both you and your various companions. You feel the emotion of the story and environment, so you equally feel the true weight of the danger that lurks around every corner as you play your way through.)

Story + Overall Experience: 10/10 (I will spoil nothing, but again, highly poetic and infused with symbolic gestures, foreshadowing, and themes and morals of many kinds. Plenty for the artistic mind to sift through while enjoying a tight stealth, combat, scavenge, and crafting system of gameplay to draw in ANY PS3 owner's serious attention. Its a unoriginal repetitive survival game with an unoriginal story.

The Last of Us is a highly over rated game,

The game features a story that is so unoriginal and so cliche you would want to punch a wall,

The last of us features mediocre gameplay where you keep pressing a button until you win and sometimes it will display the same animation of you smashing a head against the wall,

You will be killing the same 4 enemies over and over,
The combat and game as a whole is very repetitive,

if the awkward combat and killing the same enemies isn't enough, there are a lot of qte's (Quick time events)and you get some puzzle sections here and there which will make you get a ladder and put it in another place, Or you get a pallet and carry ellie over it, There are also a lot of set pieces and the game is very linear,

The game is also critically held because of its graphics,
But as a pc gamer i can tell there is no anti aliasing so my eyes were bleeding all the way through and there is some very noticeable texture pop ins and there are some untextured spots here and there,

And the locations of the game are very dark brown and unispiringing, And character's you encounter during the game are very cliche and fill in some stereo types yay!
This game is not good and all the hype and praise it receives is because of fanboys, Now if you're not aware of the term it will seem silly, But people for example could be sony/playstation fanboy's so anything related to that company they instantly praise it to above and beyond and anyone who realizes the game isn't good is instantly wrong,

Now after watching all those boring cutscenes filled with stereo types cliches and such, What do you get? You get a terrible ending arguably the worst ending to any video game ever!

It also features multiplayer, Which the word "Tacted on" should be used with.

I don't have any proof but i'm pretty sure naughty dog or sony slipped the reviewers some $ to give this game a perfect rating,

To me no game is perfect, But many games have come close but this one is far...far away

To sum this game up, If you have a ps3, Rent it play it and think what you wanna about the game causes there is no incentive to buy this game or replay it, If you are a PC or Xbox gamer or for some reason you're on the wii, don't think you are missing out on a 10/10 gem of a game cause you're really not, Just imagine the worst survival horror movie you watched and stretch it out to about 12 hours and fill it with cliches

FINAL VERDICT 4/10 You made a horribly over rated game.
