My 6 1/2 year old son is read to every night but he is a hard audience to please! Jon Scieszka has always been a success, so when we found a few Time Warp Trio books at a used book store, we picked them up hoping this might be something that might do the trick. And oh my goodness! It has been such a success!!!! We'll bring them to doctor appointments, we'll read them at bed time, we'll snuggle down and read a few chapters in the middle of the day. It always keeps his attention. It's really engaging, short cliff hanger chapters, AND it's a great tool for teaching history. I didn't realize how much information Scieszka throws into his fast paced stories until I was reading about Vikings myself and found myself thinking "Oh yeah. I read about this in the Time Warp Trio book about Vikings." We homeschool and I'm totally planning on bringing all of these books back into rotation throughout the year .
