Martina IS Timeless!

I have to admit I was a bit leary on hearing of this "cover" album from Martina. I've been a dedicated fan now for about 5 years now, so I was used to her music. I'm not too much into this traditional stuff, (I think I only knew one song on the cd) but Martina has opened new doors to me ears! My favorites on the album are Ernest Tubb's "Thanks A Lot", Tammy Wynette's "Till I Can Make It On My Own", and Sammi Smith's, "Help Me Make It Through The Night". Martina's vocals are just amazing, no surprise here though! I just love the fact that she did this album because SHE wanted to, and for the right reasons. I appreciate all the effort they put into this album to make it sound "original" and authentic, using old microphones and all that technical stuff that wasn't very technical! Timeless - McBride, Martina (CD 2005)

This Martina McBride CD, Timeless is of very good country classics made popular in gone decades by some of the great country legends and Martina McBride does them in a way that lends credibility to the original artists and she does each number in a way that only Martina can do. An excellent CD and one that is timeless and truly a classic for many years to come. Anyone who appreciates good country music will enjoy the songs on this CD. Each number is a true classic from days gone by and the beautiful voice of Martina makes each song bring to mind the original artist who preformed these great songs. Martina McBride does a respectable job with these songs.

Martina gives a great performance with her interpretations of these fine songs. I usually don't care for older songs performed by other artists but I was not disappointed with this collection.

Future CMA Album of the Year? YOU BETCHA!!!!

I'm a die-hard country music fan and all out country music enthuisist. I currently own 2 Martina McBride CD's and have had the privledge of seeing her live in concert. When I first listened to "Timeless" I knew that it would meet my expectations for a great album by a great artist. But this time she surprised even me.
"Timeless" is phenominial theres no other way to put it. Martina and her producer Paul Worley simply outdid themselves with this CD. The songs chosen were the best in classic country. From Hank Williams to Kris Kristofferson to Harlan Howard. This is absolute best..Would I buy it? You damn right I would.Read full review...

great listening

I decided to buy this cd because i am huge fan of Martina and I have heard some of these songs on the radio, she has a awesome voice, that in my opinion no one can match , she is little but loud so to speak, which makes her unique. every thing she sings she doe sso with much class and dignity, not only is she a beautiful singer she is a beautiful person , you will be blessed to hear this cd .Read full review...

This is not a review of the physical CD, but a review of the performance on the CD. Probably her best recording...great songs & great performance!

I heard this CD at a friend's house and knew immediately that I needed to buy it. I go to Ebay first on all my entertainment wants and there I found a vendor with a good rating and a very good price. This album contains classic country music standards, not the pop genre that exists today, sung by a artist that has the outstanding ability to deliver the goods. Timeless...not exactly

While I like some of Martina's music, and had already heard one release from this album on the radio, and liked it OK, the rest of the album failed to live up to the hype. Her voice is beautifully powerful as usual,but I'm the kind of person who usually likes the versions of most songs as they were sung when I first heard them. Remakes of truly classic songs hardly ever live up to the originals, at leaste for me. So those of you who like the classics the way they were, may not enjoy this album as much as others' reviews try to convince.Read full review...
