In retroreview, it has a lot of features, and flaws

Let me start by saying that I got GRAW 2 because a friend of mine did who had been budget game shopping due to the economy. As such, we had already played Rainbow Six: Vegas 1 and 2 online a great deal, and a lot of my impression of this game is based on what it does better and/or worse.

Having never played GRAW 2, I can't say much for the story, but who really plays a Tom Clancy game for the plot? The single player game allowes you to give orders to your team, and much like in earlier R6 games, and the excellent SWAT games, you can see things from their point of view. GRAW 2 also adds (which was probably in GRAW 1) the UAV satellite that you can send to get an aerial view of the tactical situation. I recognize that this would be unrealistic to have in R6, and also useless considering how much of R6 is indoors, but I still give extra points to GRAW 2 for such a cool mechanic, especially since it retains most of it's functionality in multiplayer co-op. The enemy AI isn't bad, and in fact online my friends and I have been flanked, sniped, and even ambushed by the enemy.

Positive:
Co-op allows for more than 4 players, I think the limit is 8, but we've never had more than 6.

combines local co-op with online. My friend had a friend over and they both played on our team.

Enemy AI is intelligent, but not omniscient.

Co-op missions are just as complex as single player. Perhaps more so, since you can have secondary missions based on your performance.

You can only see enemy markers when they are in range of the UAV, which forces you to really pay attention.

Negative:
1st person view is nearly an afterthought, with no actual gun appearing in the display or anything.

3rd person cover system disappears online. No online cover system.

There's no way to tell where your teammates are without them also being in the view of the UAV, or if they call for help.

In all, for a bargain purchase, this is a no brainer for people who like Co-Op games.

Ghost Recon:AW 2

Ok im going to start splitting up my game reviews in sections.Gameplay which will include much of what you need to know. Graphics which is something important in the next gen consoles! Sound for all the audio buffs..and multiplayer for all the run and gun with a friend type people

Gameplay 8 out of 10: Do you like being thrown into situation in a game in which you actually have to think? well this game does just that! Not only does it do that, but it throws you into situations that will have you running for cover! The least thing you would expect is to all of a sudden be confronted with numerous enemies while having freaking attack helicopters shooting thousands of bullets at you from the gattling gun! and having to control a squad makes it a crazy task.the thing about having all this stuff going on at once really draws you into the game.you will feel like your really contolling a squad and fighting terrorists!!!

pros: in all the game play is great and will have you glued to the tv with your eyes popping out of your head because a freaking barrage of bullets are hurling towards your face.

cons: at points you will have to control many allies causing complete confusion.

Multiplayer 9 out of 10: awesome! its just as great as the first if not better!!! altho there seems to be alot of moron hosts who hold up the room for just 2 extra guys. COME on people 5 on 5 is just as fun... start the game!!!! :P

Graphics 7 out of 10: Basically if you played GR:AW 1 then you will be seeing amped up version of its graphics.explosions are deffenetly something to gawk over.

Sound 7 out of 10: nothing really amazing here. everything pretty much sounds how you would expect. -note- its not a bad thing.

GRAW 2

All I can say is that the single player campaign in this game is absoloutely stunning. You actually have to control a 4 man unit and later in the game, a stryker, a tank, and a helicopter. It sounds incredibly complicated to control so many things at once, but the controls are relatively easy to learn. The previous Ghost Recon games I found to be horrible but this game is a totally different experience. You can choose between loads of new high tech weaponry and choose who you have in your squad (like a grenadier, marskman, riflemen, medic, etc.). Yet there is one huge drawback to the game and that's the multiplayer. This would include the coop, Xbox Live, and local splitscreen matches. They are really not that much fun. The redical in the multiplayer is harder to adjust than the single player, and the view of your character is completely different too. On xbox live, the matches are fairly simple, and require about as much skill as pulling the trigger on the controller.

If you are a type of gamer that just loves the single player campaign mode I would really recommend this game. If you're an Xbox Live freak, then I probably wouldn't recommend this game because of the poor multiplayer gameplay.

Overall, a good game.

Fun game, pretty realistic. Good multiplayer

Pros: Graphics are excellent - probably some of the best for the 360 right now. You always feel like you're right in the game. I love how there's online Co-Op, which can be up to 16 players, or just you and your friend.

Cons: During campaign, you have briefings where you're usually in a helicopter or car, but your controller is vibrating non stop during this time. It usually lasts a few minutes. I like being able to cutomize your character in online, but A. they should have let you be able to do that in campaign, and B. give you more options for customization, but it's still pretty good.

If you're more of an online player, the cons shouldn't bother you, and even if you are going to play campaign, it's not that big of a deal. If you like Rainbow Six or Splinter Cell, you'll love this game. If you haven't played a lot of shooters for the 360, maybe rent it and then decide if you wanna buy it.

4 out of 5 stars for some minor annoyances.

Great tactical shooter single player, weak co-op.

GRAW 2 is even better than the first one. The graphics are tight and the explosions on the game are incredible. The missions are extremely challenging on the highest difficulty but easy enough for the average gamer on the lower settings. The co-op missions are not the same as the single player missions which is really the only thing I dislike about this game. The co-op missions are mindless and not very challenging. I would love to play the single player missions with a friend over xbox live. That would make this game a lot better. Overall if you like games like this then you will love GRAW 2. If you are looking for great co-op action avoid this and buy Gears or Army of 2.Read full review...

Great game, but has a short single player mode.

I have played this game for around 20 hours all time now and I have to say it is a stunning game. The multiplayer is the strongest point in this game, but the campaign is a fun ride for the few hours it actually lasts. The single player campaign is only around 5 hours long. Meaning if you don't have Xbox Live, you better get it if you want to enjoy this game to the fullest. If you buy this game for the single player, you will be wasting your time on a game that is basically temporary. But, if you buy this game AND you have Xbox Live. It is a blast and also is one of the best shooters on consoles to date.Read full review...

GRAW 2...It'll make you want to enlist!

Real time ballistics and physics make this game a must have! If you liked GRAW 1 then you'll LOVE this title.

Good: Lots of real time tactical options make for a lot of different methods of play whether youre a gamer that plays as a marksmen or a M-60 gunner. Commanding several working elements of the battle field (like your own squad members, air support, and armor on the ground) makes this game feel like the real deal. Also, at the beginning of every mission you have the option of selecting a weapon from a pretty impressive arsenal (although you can only take high powered rifles for some missions....but hey, nothing commands authority like a M-107 .50 caliber rifle, right?)

BAD: Although commanding a lot of elements can be interesting, it also gets kind of daunting and sometimes you'll forget that you even have the option of some things. The real time physics of this game are not like games like HALO or UnReal Tournament where you can look in several directions very quickly, these guys are much slower than most other games (moving, reloading, changing weapons, throwing grenades), but that just reflects reality a lot better.

Overall - This game is definitely worth a look if you enjoy tactical games that still have enough of that good old point and shoot quality about them.

Good Tactical Game

Single player campaign on the hardest difficulty has some tough spots, but all in all not as hard as GRAW 1.

Multiplayer is extremely expansive with the number of game modes, weapons, maps, and Free Downloadable Content which extends the game even more.

only thing is, why take wall cover out of multiplayer? That is used so well in R6 Vegas series.

Great game.....glad I bought it.

I bought this game becoz I purchased a Xbox 360 for my son for Christmas. All he loves to play is Sonic, Mario and racing games. I am not into that and I played all the SOCOM games on PS2, so I decided to give this game a try. What a great choice....the game is excellent in many way.....especially the graphics. The only draw back is that you are not able to give commands to individual team members in single player mode. The entire team moves to same spot unlike in SOCOM you can send them all off to individual areas. Besides that it is a great game.Read full review...

Punt, Pass, or just kick it in the trash can, but don't bother playing it.

Two words: Stupid and frustrating. On the plus side it is a step up for those who were used to playing Tetras on Game Boy only. On the reality side, I realize this might have been state of the art in 2007, so I am delighted I didn't start playing these games until 2009. Those who thought this was something wonderful, were probably the same kind of people who would be awed with a marble in a sealed coffee can.

Look, the designers tried to make the game do too much without enough control buttons which only resulted in pretzel finger exercises and a screwed up game.

The aiming feature is very slow, floating, and just pure crap to work with. The game tries to compensate by lighting the bad guys up in red diamonds, but the clarity of graphics are so dark and poor it is still nearly impossible to see things.

Even the night vision is worthless and I still wonder what they thought they were doing with it. The check points are a million miles apart and the instant enemy spawn makes the game unbearable as you are reset over and over when the bad guy just appears and kills you from behind or right next to you.

This game is a JOKE people, if you want to give some kid that has little to do or just a couple of games to be nice or keep him busy it will do that.

If you seriously want to play something fun, trash can it and go buy something much newer.

I can not believe someone actually wasted millions putting this out and people spent millions more buying it...

It had to be bad 5 years ago as well...
