Now I ask myself - why didn´t I buy this before? - you just can not be without a DC-clamp if you work with batteries. Very useful also for electronic projects with good DC-accuracy down to a few millamps. It is easy to operate and, so far, it seems to have good quality. It´s definitely worth the 30$ I paid.Read full review...

Great things in small packages

Certainly the smallest clamp multimeter that I have seen. But you still get the ability to measure DC amperage with the clamp; a feature normally seen in the much more expensive meters.

Very handy clamp meter

Small instrument but with big LCD display, many features, easy to use. I bring it in my pocket.

great clamp multimeter

Very good multimeter with allround usability for home, hobbyist and anywhere around electronics :) Great value for money too. We're not looking for a super professional tool here obviously, but a handy versatile tool with good precision and functionality. Well, maybe it's even unbeatable in this category and price range. Just look up some reviews and tests, there are plenty.
This thing is even hackable! It can be quite easily customized and reconfigured for extended functionality (providing you have at least some electronics an programming skills). Worked like a charm for me :) Very happy with it. Go to the EEV blog and check it out.
I really recommend this meter not only for its specs and qualities at low price, but also for the online EE community and available resources.

Small & Compact with great features

Considering the price the features are really good. Love the DC amp clamp and the fact it has a 2 amp setting.
Seems to work really well so far.

Good evaluation results on accuracy but very poor in protection design

o Favorable features
- Good evaluation results on its accuracy from expert groups
- Good price

o Unfavorable features
- Very poor design in protection of the meter. It is broken simply by reversal of the power(battery) polarities
- The COM ports allowed for PC connection are only COM 1~4.
- The operation manual is only in Chinese.

Clamp-on DC current measurement

I needed an option for testing DC current, without connecting test leads. This is perfect!
Most clamp meters only do AC current..

Yes! A low voltage clamp meter that is accurate to 1mA !

Let's begin here with if you are buying any type of electronic rest gear you have already watched Dave Jones EEVBlog YT site and perhaps his forums. You have also watched Martin's mjlortin YT site and perhaps his forum.
IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO, then bookmark these guys. They have started from the ground up and for over 5 years they have become the goto sites for anything to do with electronics.

Now that said, let me add my perspective. First. Dave Jones simply hates Uni-T and his reasoning is sound. Martin is polite about Uni-T and goes a gentle yes or maybe not
For me, I do not need industrial CAT IV, nor do I need a Fluke. Personally I dislike Fluke's trademark Yellow. Yellow disturbs me. Red on black. Amprobe and Uni-T. this is very personal thing..and comes from the culture I was raised in.
All that said and out of the way. what I found, is the Current meter is incredibly accurate. I watched a YT that demonstrated a HP power supply varying the current by mAmps, and it was dead on. In my testing mine was also dead on. I did not expect this. Especially using a clamp meter. clamp meters are supposed to be inherently less acurate than any std DMM. a loose wire through an open clamp makes this so.
Honesty to me this is amazing. Remember this is a low amp Clamp meter. for work above 60 Amps get a Standard Clamp meter that handles 400 to 600 Amps. for 15 and 20 Amps Household wiring, use a line-splitter at the receptacle. (it has a 10x feature. However if you want something for Automotive or DC hobby electronics lab this is a REALLy good deal.
Details and Specs, go to Uni-T English website. want to see their offices and manufacturing plant search YT for "Tour of Uni-T facilities"
The features are what I needed plus it has the non-contact voltage feature, not needed but fun.
It has a Variable frequency Drive feature. however, it is poorly explained in their manual, and they are confused in how to abbrevaite it. Modern motors now use variable frequency to adjust speed. use Duck Duck Go to find VFC, and VFD. Or go to Fluke's technical information site if you do not undertand about VFD and VFC.
capacitance specs are poor, however for the price-point real accuracy should not be expected. Precise capacitance measurements require an LCR meter, or a Dick Smith type of ESR meter.. I have watched various complaints about, various features. no clear mrk on the dial, flimsy build, and so forth. However, if you watch enough of these reviews, you learn, some poeple just have bias or just complain. It is sturdy for a small meter. Simply add a dot of white point, or use a silver or gold permanent marker. I have yet to find any type of gear, whther electrnoics, photo, lighting, power tool, etc that I have not made some small adjustment, mod, or add some marker, or line to. Even professional SLRs and DSLRs.
Check out Dave and Martin's site if you are not clear about what type of meter. If this meter fits your area of use, then GO FOR IT !! and get this model

Great quality/price value

For AC/DC clamp it is great choice for home user. It is precise enough for most cases. For example to measure excess car battery current in "off" mode. Check currents in junction boxes and so on.
It is small and uses standard batteries. Also usable for simpler PCB troubleshooting.Read full review...
