Play That Funky Music, White Boys...

As a child of the 70s and 80s, I practically grew up on Bootsey Collins, George Clinton, Parliament-Funkadelic, Duran Duran, and Prince, just to name a few. Musically, it was a wild, glorious time - bass, glam, funk, and synthesizers took the musical experience to a whole new level.

With their self-titled album, Under the Influence of Giants has managed to combine all the best of the two musical eras - all the groove, all the grind, the sexy bravado, and ALL THE FUNK.

I bought the cd after hearing "Mama's Room", but quickly got hooked on track #3 "In The Clouds". As they say on the streets, "That's my jam!" It's an instant attitude adjustment. Every time I hear this, I want to get up, stomp, and shake it for all it's worth. And believe me, I do!

There's nothing about this cd that I don't like. I'm not really a fan of "slow" songs, but the two or three that are on this cd are soulful, and didn't disrupt the flow at all, but provided a welcome break from shaking it for all it's worth.

AWESOME

The product was awesome. I wasn't expecting it to be in perfect condition, and it wasn't, but it still worked perfectly fine. I came across this band while searching for indie bands in hopes of expanding my musical horizons. I love all of their songs, but MEANINGLESS LOVE is my favorite. ALL-TIME. When people ask me what my favorite band, i have to say UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF GIANTS at the moment. they say they never heard of them, WHICH IS A SHAME, but i say, you have to listen to them. and they do and they love them as well :]

I love this CD! I got the free download off iTunes and loved the song, and had no money left on my iTunes credit, so I went to go and buy a new card and they had the CD there at the CD exchange for only 5 bucks! Great Cd, very good music, something different to listen to, not your everyday stuff, the single mama's room is great.
