Ordered this radio because I wanted an ssb. Radio works perfectly. Ssb Channels are fun to play with and easy to tune. Weather band reception is strong and clear. Great Radio and Great Price
I really like the Display Colors, SWR and the Scanning features. It's also nice to have the weather stations available. It's now a generation 2 board so it's made in Vietnam but the packaging and instructions are made in China. I wonder if the price will go up and still be available in the future. Uniden bearcat 980 ssb cb radio
This is so far a great radio, I've been into cb radio since I was 12 years old, I'm now 48, I have been back into the hobby for 2 yrs now and I have 2 older 23 channel ssb radios but I wanted something with 40 channels and something new not vintage so I got this. I love it! I have made contacts in 4 states from my home in central new York ( with skip conditions) on my Mack flatside 3 element beam, and of course tons of local contacts as well. Bad display for daytime driving
This is a decent radio if you're looking for something basic. If you're using it indoors the display is fine. if you want to use this in a vehicle the displays absolutely horrible in the daytime. I need to be able to see the display to tell what channel you're on and also how strong incoming signals are on the S meter. I was basically unable to see anything on the display with the brightness setting all the way up.
Not to mention at night the display could also be better. I feel like the President McKinley has a much better display which is very easily seen during the day or night in a vehicle. Although for the money that anytone at-6666 is a much better radio for a few dollars more. Read full review...

Best bang for the buck
Hello to all, if your new to cb radio and your looking for a all around great smaller size radio this is the one to get. Very good sound on tx and rx and weather radio works very well. I do a lot of these radio`s and others and every one that buy`s one from me or sends me their radio in to get setup properly they are all very happy with the results , So if you want a great radio with ssb and am and weather this is the one to get.
