Quiet whisper
I was a bit dubious at first. How can this little fan possibly make any difference?
My stove it's fitted within an old fireplace like I'm sure many of you have done the same, only to find that the confines of the opening doesn't let much of the stoves heat radiate out. Then I looked into these "eco-fans" and though I'd give it a try. This one cost about £42, probably the smallest physical sized on the market. Follow the instructions supplied (not rocket science) set fan on top of stove. light stove. Once stove reaches about 50 degrees the fan starts to spin, when the stove on full tilt, this clever wee fan blows the heat from the stove into the centre of the room. Simples. No batteries. No power leads. All you can hear from the fan is a little quiet whisper.

It’s a good fan and it also came with a log stove thermometer. It’s been a good tool to know exactly where the optimum temperature for burning logs and to learn where the sweet spot is so you aren’t sooting up the chimney unnecessarily.
You can notice the difference when using the fan but you have to place it over to one side of the flue pipe to get the best use of it which can be rather tricky on a small compact log burner like mine but we have found a good place for it. Wood burner stove fan
I have seen this before on friends stoves And so decided to get one when I moved to a cottage with a wood burning stove and I was amazed at how efficient it was.It really throws the heat out into the room and makes a huge difference to the warmth of the room. Nice thing and I think it's effective.
It looks to be well made and starts up about five minutes after lighting the log stove. I've only had it a week so I can't say how long it will last.

Amazing product
I ordered one and liked it so much that I ordered a second. We have a deeply recessed wood burner with 15 cm clearance on top so this was a perfect fit. Makes a huge difference - before most of the heat was going up the chimney but with two fans we get 2-3 degrees extra heat, for longer and with less wood.
