Interesting approach to a western theme

This Elmore Leonard story is better than the average western yarn and while it was made in Spain has far better characterisations and direction than the spaghetti westerns that took hold of the genre. This particular DVD release, unfortunately, has been transferred in 1:66:1 screen ratio so offers only a small image in the middle of the screen - with no option to fill the screen in the correct 1:85:1 widescreen ratio - it also seems to have a small section missing towards the finish of the story, it's just a minor cut but impacts on the continuity of the action. Not sure why this edit has been made (animal cruelty??) but the British sometimes do this type of thing for no fully apparent reason.
