My ratings on this are based on my price paid, current average prices, and my experience with "cheap" androids.

A little more firmware support would be nice. My ratings on this are based on my price paid, current average prices, and my experience with "cheap" androids. People complain about the aspect ratio of this compared to , mainly, a Nexus 7. I have had a first gen Nexus 7 since it hit the market, and my only complaint was the narrow width to length of the screen. Meaning landscape mode is more the norm. Well I don't want to do landscape. First world problem, I know, but that is the same problem I have with iPhone 5, 5c, 5s, until the 6+ I went back to a 4s. The screen on the Ellipsis 7 makes me feel less like I have to tilt to read or view. The forward speakers are pretty lima charlie, I mean, loud and clear, as opposed to any that have them out the back cover. The other main grip from the reviews was the 4g lte only, no fallback to 3g or 2g if lte isn't hitting your area at the moment. My Nexus 7, and all but one off brand tabs were only wifi anyway. This would have been a big issue back when new, but I got this one used, probably not going to set up a Verizon data package anyway, as most of you that are reading this too, so, summary:
#1 most important, to me,: It's still alive and well after two weeks with Techno Destructo, referring to me, NOT the GWAR guy. A lot of tech has met it's maker at my hands, buy it broken, fix it to new, and if kept, break it. Like a Combat Engineer. So frail and dainty the Ellipsis 7 isn't.

Fit and finish, compared to Nexus 7 1st gen: Nexus has the edge, but a more delicate feel, and much better support, Asus and the development community back the Nexus like a boss, still. If you want to root, flash ROMS and all that, go nexus. The Ellipsis 7 is easily rooted, but I have not found any ROMs or developer community support for it. I got mine with the latest offered OTA update 4.4.2 already installed, and it's not too bloated, or bogged down to where you NEED to at least Odex and Deodex the stock ROM to get decent performance.

Compared to any of the "clone" or "Chinese knock off", which is where almost all tablets and cell phones are made anyway, even Samsung, A more quality feel, smoother interaction with the O.S. and stuff working as it should right off without fiddling around. If you can get one of these, even good shape used, for the same amount as an "off brand", get the Ellipsis 7, which is an "off brand", made by Quanta, for Verizon, but an off brand made to a better standard.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Your actual mileage will vary, lead foot.

medium quality

for the price I guess I cant complain. That being said the battery life is rotten you get maybe 14 hours on standby, and if your trying to use it you better be quick it will drain very fast. other than that bits a good tabletRead full review...

Verizon Ellipsis 7

The tablet arrived quickly and was 100% functional out of the box. This was a refurbished tablet and was very inexpensive. The tablet itself is a bit slow, however price made up for speed. I do not play games on it. It performs well for my applications but may not be fast enough for everyone.Read full review...

For the price you cant beat it.

Only problem I ever had with it is it don't want to turn back on sometimes. So just hold the power button down till it will. Good speakers but short on app storage in tablet. Won't let you store apps on mico sd card 😟. Long charge time! Had one for 2 years now. This is my 2nd 1. Read full review...

Excellent tab

Good for younger children or as a side tablet. Good screen quality and good sound unit is fast. Good budget unit with the quality of a higher end tablet. Tablet has a micro memory card slot and make a good tablet for monitoring security cameras or is you want to video an event. It will take up to a 32gb micro card.
Over all great value for the money.

The little tablet that can get it done at the best price.

I bought this Verizon Ellipsis tablet because I already own one and love the price vs features. The 4G LTE service from Verizon is plenty fast for me. I don't need a large data plan because I use it on WiFi most of the time. In fact I won't even buy a sim card for this one and activate it unless my first one dies or gets broken. I prefer this over my Nexus 7 hands down. I gave the Nexus to my grandson. Better cameras, Dual front facing speakers, 4G LTE, Micro SD storage, Bluetooth, GPS, Excellent battery life, Google Play Store, you name it, it has it, except HDMI. That is the only real feature missing. Guess what? The Nexus 7 doesn't have it either.
For power it uses a quad core 1.2GHz SOC, coupled with 1GB of DDR3 ram and 16GB flash storage.
It runs on Android 4.2.2. This seems to have all the features we need. My Nexus updated to Android 5.0 and now takes forever to boot up. Not good. Another reason I do not use it any more.
Since I've been giving a head to head comparison of the Ellipsis and the Nexus 7, I have to be fair and give the Nexus credit for having 32GB of flash storage. That is the one and only plus Nexus gets that the Ellipsis didn't get.

Ellipsis 7

Bought as a gift for my wife. so far she loves it. Just starting using it after Christmas so she's still learning what all she can do with it. It seems to be easy to use. Had to add a SD micro card to increase the memory. Has over 20 apps already installed.Read full review...
