Verizon and Frontier FIOS Quantum Gateway routers.

A good router, good wireless coverage. Improvement in speed and coverage over my previous 4 year old Verizon provided router.

Note: If you have Verizon FIOS service get a Verizon branded version of this router for best compatibility. Many online sell you a Frontier branded version of this router even though they show you a Verizon picture. The Frontier branded router will work (I have used them). However each has slightly different interface software and the Frontier will not automatically sync with other Verizon branded equipment like their WiFi extender or with Verizon's remote web management system and probably not get software updates if Verizon pushes any out (my guess on the last update point). It works, but firmware cannot be updated through Verizon.

This router was just what I needed...until I started having speed issues. Turns out the router I purchased has Frontier Firmware. That means it will never receive the Verizon firmware updates. Verizon explained that this is common when buying routers from third parties- Verizon sold off it's territory in certain areas to Frontier, and some routers are set up for Frontier.Read full review...

For Verizon/Frontier FIOS customers needing a no-hassle router upgrade, THIS IS THE ONE!

Have had the old Actiontec 424R provided by Verizon/Frontier for a long time and got tired of not getting the connection speed I’m paying for (75/75).

Found out through a little online research that others have experienced this same limitation. Decided to upgrade the router, but A) didn’t want to overpay to buy/rent a new one from Frontier, and B) didn’t want to go with a completely rogue solution and have to mess with config/sync issues or moca adapters.

That’s where this Quantum Gateway router comes in. Got it for about half-price on eBay, unplugged network patch cables and coax from the old router, plugged them into this router, and it just worked... no issues whatsoever. Immediately synced up with Frontier’s network, and recognized all of my devices (PCs/phones/TVs/etc). The WIFI password setup is easy, the included manual walks you step-by-step (this manual can also be downloaded from several websites including Frontier’s).

Now getting at or above my rated FIOS speed, and the WIFI signal strength is greatly improved. Just don’t forget to re-setup any parental control rules you had on the old router - protect those kiddos!

For Verizon/Frontier FIOS customers needing a no-hassle router upgrade, THIS IS THE ONE!

Best modem for Apple products!

I have 2 iMacs, iPhones and iPads and had 2 brand new Netgear modems from AT&T that would not work with the Apple products. Kept disconnecting when on wireless and would always say cannot connect to the network. This never happens with the Motorola.

Be sure the Motorola modem has the red sticker on the top and the stickers on the bottom with the Access Code and WEP key. If the modem does not have those stickers on it I wouldn't buy it.

Netopia 3347 works well.

The Netopia 3347 modem/router works well but I have just installed it, so I will know more after a week or so. I bought a 3347 at the recommendation of a repairman who came to my house to try to repair my DSL line. He said I might get faster internet speeds from the 3347 than I was getting with my combination Westell modem and Netgear router. My first 4 attempt to install were unsuccessful in getting on-line with AT&T, but I finally took a paper clip and re-set the unit. I got on-line with AT&T instantly, and the AT&T site configured the modem. After I got on-line, I followed directions obtained from various sites to set up wireless service. Right now, the 3347 is working great, and a note on the unit says it should be even faster after I leave it turned on for 10 days.Read full review...

Good FiOS-Certified Router

This isn't a great Wi-Fi Router, but it's the best available, if you have FiOS internet and TV. The range and speed are ok, but not great. Other than that, it's a good router. Lots of features, if you need things like Port Forwarding, etc. It's pretty easy to configure and the overall quality is good.Read full review...

Great Deal

I got this brand new Fios internet router and I got the Verizon installation a week later, the technician told me that it was a great deal for a new product. They do have the latest upgrade now, but this box still widely used and can handle 1GB speed which is great. I am happy I found it, price and quality is excellent.Read full review...

Good Quality and Features - Needs better range

It seems odd to me that they build this Quantum Router with so many features and functions, but didn't add a more powerful transmitter/receiver to improve the range, even more. Not to say that the range is poor. It's not. It's just not as robust as other high-end routers from other manufacturers. Most people will be happy with this unit, unless your home/business has many walls and/or other obstacles that will reduce the signalRead full review...

A good, solid router with MoCA 2.0

Contrary to what a lot of folks think, this or any other Fios routers can be used on non-Fios systems with a properly installed MoCA POE (Point of Entry) or Whole Home DVR filter. All that you need do is run the Ethernet cable from the cable modem to the WAN port on the router. If you want to use MoCA for Tivos or just general networking in your home, This router is actually a bargain in that regard because it offers MoCA 2.0 which is what the current generation of high speed MoCA devices use.Read full review...

Verizon Modem

Buying this modem is a great way to save money and not make Verizon richer. Two year contract with no rental fees. I recommend to all Verizon customers. This is my second Verizon modem. I have one and just bought this one for my uncle.Read full review...

Router delivered as advertised

Frontier version of Verizon's Quantum Gateway router. The admin user interface's look and feel is more outdated than Fios' but does not remove any critical functionality. This AC1750 unit is great to use as a network mesh to ensure even coverage of wifi, price-wise, when your residence has ethernet or coax outlets built into walls and you have Fios data subscriptionRead full review...
