Not done vhs converting before so wanted something that would be easy to use and not degrade the video during conversion. Reviews on this product were good so took the plunge.
I was not disappointed. Kit contains everything one needs - the capture device, cables, software, video tutorials and extremely comprehensive written instructions. Lots of technical faq's given with the instructions which is very useful. Email address for the computer company (trcomputers) is given in the instructions for support should one need it.
I followed the instructions precisely and everything went smoothly. Loaded software onto my oldish laptop running windows 10 (upgraded from windows 7). Transferring the videos from my video player to laptop is easy and the resulting digital video appears exactly the same as the original vhs, so all good and very pleased. Buy this if you want one that works with Windows 10
I bought this one after buying a much cheaper one that didn't work with Windows 10 (the video image it gave was split across the middle). This one was a lot more expensive but it works fine on my Windows 10 PC and comes with very good detailed instructions. When used on my Windows 10 laptop the video output was jerky, but as it was OK on my PC I didn't spend much time trying to work out why. The software that comes with t is good, including a more complicated editing package which I didn't use.Read full review...

Essential 100% reliable instructions
Great instructions - that's the main thing. Its simple kit, but there are so many things that you can get wrong doing this, that really good thorough instructions and problem solving are essential. Worth every penny, because there are answers to every possible problem in with this kit.

Read your instructions, first!
After I read the instruction, the installation for my version went great, no hiccups at all. I was able to copy "capture" my first tape within 20 minutes after opening the package. I transferred the "capture" to DVD later in the evening, with no problems.
Cost wise, $50.00, plus my time far outbeats the commercial cost of copying the 15 tapes, or buying a commercial tape to DVD machine.Read full review...

I had a load of old VHS tapes going back years and needed to put them on a pen drive and this product does the job. All the instructions are idiot proof and also a wealth of advice and direction on how to overcome any problems you might incur but i didn't get any. Instructions are clear and concise which is pretty rare when buying gizmos like these and a great Frequently Q and A page which is also very helpful

This product does a good job of digitizing analogue Hi8 or VHS tapes to MPEG 2. The comprehensive instructions are a great help. I have not yet had time to burn a DVD yet or do much of an edit but the main task of digitizing 25 year old tapes is complete. I am still learning after 50 odd years as a techie in the TV industry..
