Great Collection of Bing Crosby Movie Music

This is the first collection of four Going Hollywood sets, each of which covers a different period of Bing Crosby's film career. These two CDs include forty-six recordings from pictures Crosby made between 1930 and 1936.

The musicals featured are King of Jazz, Reaching for the Moon, Confessions of a Co-ed, The Big Broadcast (1932), College Humor, Too Much Harmony, Going Hollywood, We're Not Dressing, She Loves Me Not, Here Is My Heart, Mississippi, Two For Tonight, and The Big Broadcast of 1936. My favorite tracks are "Mississippi Mud/So the Bluebirds and the Blackbirds Got Together," "Out of Nowhere," "Just One More Chance," "Our Big Love Scene," "Beautiful Girl," "Going Hollywood," "We'll Make Hay While the Sun Shines," "I Positively Refuse to Sing," "June In January," and "Love Is Just Around The Corner."

All of these recordings are taken directly from the films. Sound quality is not always great, but the novelty of having the exact version of the songs used in the movies makes this acceptable. This is a great CD for Bing Crosby fans who want to hear songs from Bing's early pictures but can't locate copies of the films themselves, as many of these musicals have never been released on DVD.

Lovely going down memory lane!

I do like this CD. At first it wouldn't play so I contacted the seller and he suggested I try it in a different device. I did this and it worked and now it works where originally it wouldn't. I'm so happy I took that advice from the seller!!! I love the classic movies and so many of the classic songs. I will probably wear this CD out.Read full review...
