Love Western Digital RE Enterprise SATA drives!

Western Digital RE4 are the exclusive drives I use in building my servers and custom workstations. After almost 30 servers and 20 or so workstations, I think I can remember one warranty replacement. Drives are hardened for 24/7 server use and consequently perform very well in that environment (RAID 1 and RAID 10) in my case. I use both the 3Gb/s and 6Gb/s version. Would strongly recommend for any server application and in fact in custom desktops I build I use the RE drives to get the 5 year warranty...A little more than the desktop versions but well worth it in my applications....Read full review...

Buy when the price is right, but don't tell anybody, or they'll sell higher

Once again, Western digital fails to disappoint! I've read, not to use these as stand-alone HDD's... Why? They perform like a champ with the 64MB cache, better and faster than the 8MB's, quiet and durable, the last thing I worry about when my PC is needs a doctor. Wipe it clean and start over with a fresh install, or use it when you doubt some other HDD. I've wiped mine several times, just for a temporary install-troubleshoot in other machines, then put it back in my stable. Never a failure or glitch. They are made for work, a Clydesdale in a barn of swayback ponies. Buy one or twelve when you can. I won't use anything else, er, 'cept maybe a seagate 32MB. I prefer to partition them in 150GB partitions. Keep the B.S. down, and the options up. Go WD!Read full review...

Western Digital has been making great Hard Drives for years and the new RE4 Enterprise series of drives are no exception. This drive is rated for 1.4 million hours of continuous use and will add reliability to any computer setup. Excellent Hard Drive for longevity and adding a boost to your overall system performance.
