I saw this from a TV monitor in a hospital waiting room while it was being simulcast, live, years ago. Although I was a classical music fan at the time, I was a newbie to opera. While watching Wotan's famous "fire music" at the end of Die Walküre, I was utterly hooked.

I love this rendition of the Ring Cycle, it feels very authentic somehow... the costumes are great, actors/singers believable.
