Complete set for home haircuts - very happy
Great set of guard sizes for both the clippers and trimmer. Makes cutting my own hair and my son's easy and quick.
As much as I like the cordless trimmer, running on AA batteries feels under powered compared to my old wired Wahl bullet but it is still fine for home use. Keep everything clean and oiled and it should last for years.

too heavy and too many attachments, confusing
I wanted a kind of basic haircutting tool, but most were sold out so I bought this one , first the positive, it has many different attachments so IF you were somewhat proficient you could do most anything. The main problem is it is kind of heavy so your hand tends to tire and since technique is very important you can get uneven results. I bought this because for years I've cutting my own hair, I had very cheap clippers I bought at Walmart. Those clippers lasted years and all I really need to do is sharpen the blade. Better haircuts right at home. After 5 months of Covid restrictions and having my son cut my hair twice I decided to buy the Wahl Deluxe kit and learn to give myself a haircut. Heck, my dad always cut our hair when we were young boys and it was fine then so why not now.
I'm pretty easy, #3 on sides, #4 around the middle, #6 up top. The hair clipper is easier to hold and cut with than I thought. I started making the cutting motions with it off then flipped the switch and repeated the same motion, perfect. The softside case is nice feature, holds all the tools in one place and fits under the vanity with ease.
The small trimmer is a real bonus, it's razor sharp and makes straight, tight cuts on neckline, over the ears, and sideburns. Put a #4 on it and great to eyebrow trimming. I find myself grabbing it after shaving just to make clean cut lines on my sideburns.
That major hair cutting chain was getting me for $21.00 + $4.00 tip every 4 weeks. The Wahl kit pays for itself in 2.5 haircuts plus now I cut may hair every 2-3 weeks so it never gets too long.Read full review...

I ordered this due to Coronavirus quarantine restrictions which caused my husband and son not to be able to get their hair cut for a couple of months. I watched videos on YouTube and on the Wahl website that taught me how to cut and fade men's hair and ordered this Wahl system because it had a complete set of guards that would make it much easier for someone who has never cut hair. The product is awesome, and came with everything I expected. Their haircuts turned out much better than I'd imagined they would. My husband is so pleased that he wants me to continue to cut his hair at home (much to my chagrin) even after all this quarantine stuff has passed. I ordered this set specifically because of the Left and Right Taper Combs. This kit seems to be a good price point, as the Wahl Elite Kit price nearly doubles at this point in time, due to the more powerful motor. These big clippers run great, and the small ones work very well despite running on only 2 AA batteries. I work as a first responder during this quarantine so I’d prefer to look good for these upcoming months.
