A Better Design
On my truck's 5.0 liter engine, I couldn't get a reliable watertight seal using the OEM housing. I saw this one uses a O-ring gasket. I smoothed out a thin layer of form-a-gasket on the manifold side and put this housing on. That was 5 years ago. It has held fast. The one I bought that this review should be for, I bought because I had suspected the thermostat was failing. It wasn't and the old one is still in place. Not horrible, but not good.
