The Perfect Switch

After about 4 months, I was finally to get all my Wemo Smart plugs to work. I would not use anything different. Works if you are willing to put up with them.

Instructions are awful. If you need, and will, an updated version of the WEMO app it only took me two or three hours for it to download and install. Tried several times and my connection was good but it took forever. They work well for different periods of time. Then they just don't connect. Sometimes it is as easy as unplug and plug them back. Other times trash can. The newer version is supposed to be better. Yeah sure. I used to write instruction manuals for a company many years ago. They need someone like me. Imagine, walking into a dark room and not having to fumble for the light switch.. Well you can with the Wemo plug that syncs with many different whole house Smart devices. In addition, it can be programmed through the Smart device to do a number of different chores, like starting the coffee in the morning or switching random lights on and off while you are away. Worth the money and convenient

Fairly easy to setup, if you are a little tech savvy and are somewhat familiar with smart home products. Once it is setup it is easy to use and the integration with Google Home was easy & painless. Great idea, terrible setup

In concept, the wemo smart plugs are a great idea. Plug them in, attach them to your network, and you can control the devices from anywhere. In practice though it's not that easy. The initial setup is straightforward enough, it's when things go wrong that the plugs can become your worst nightmare. Shortly after installing my first plug, I needed to reboot my modem and router. That led to 57 different attempts to reconnect my plug to the wifi. So when I installed my second plug I thought 'OK, now at least I know how to do this'. Then there was a power outage. Somehow the first plug managed to reconnect with no issues, but now I am on the 10th retry of resetting the second plug. I'll let you know if I ever get it reconnected, though I wouldn't expect to hear from me for awhile.Read full review

Good product but hard to install

Pro’s this product works great. I use it with apple home. Once setup it works perfectly.

Con’s the interface with home is very rough. I had to reset one unit twice to get it to work. Each time I added a new device I had to delete the Wemo app and reinstall it. At one point it showed the unit it was connected to home but home didn’t se it. When I deleted the device and the Wemo app. Reset the device and reinstalled the Wemo app. Then installed the device it worked and home saw it.

On my experience it's work pretty well, but the setup process was a little difficult. I followed all the steps but the device stop working and I needed to reset the device.
