Female readers who are tried of Jordan's rape scenes & general misogyny will probably like this book much better. He only discusses beating women a few dozen times in this one. 🙄

Indispensable insight to add to the WOT series.

I am a huge Robert Jordan fan, brought on by my youngest son's love for his Wheel of Time Series. While I do still love the books finished by Brandon Sanderson, I was missing the wonderfully descriptive Robert. I love the fact this is a prequel to WOT and gives an insight to a pre-Lan Moiraine, begining in the Aiel War, that we could have only imagined before. There are many familiar cheracters, and relationships, that this book has neatly wraped up giving a concrete insight to most of the speculations one had to make while reading the WOT series, and done accuratly in true cheracter that only the creator of WOT can do. New Spring by Robert Jordan 2004 hardcore

I purchased this for my daughter to complete her collection of this author so this is a second hand review although she has let me know through the years how much she enjoys this author & his entire collection of this continuing saga. She had read most of them while in school & she is now re-reading them for the 3rd or 4th time & she is 31. She had worn out all 9 of the series & had never read the prequel which was written later. While talking with her on the phone she mentioned she was going to try & read them again but they were falling apart so I bought her the whole series & then found her the prequel. Since she received them she has read the first 4 so far. She reads a lot of venues from Mitchner & Hemmingway to Asimov & Edgar Rice Burroughs. For a series of books to have kept her interest for an 18 year span should say something good for the subject matter & the writer.Read full review...

Vicariously entertained

Book was in Excellent, nearly mint condition upon arrival to my doorstep. The story line in this fictional book is one that spans decades in a 11-book series called "Wheels of Time" by an author, Robert Jordan, now deceased, that had exceptional creativity and an amazing grasp of the English language. It is a a very interesting series. I bought this particular book to complete the full set and will gift wrap them for my daughter for Christmas. These books are her favorite since she claimed that the works of Shakespeare were taking second place when she read this series 2-3 years ago.Read full review...

An Intresting Read

New Spring is a great novel. To those who have read the series, you learn a lot about Moraine, Lan, and the White Towers History. You will also enjoy when the book touches on events in the Wheel of Time. For those who have never touched the One Power (read the Wheel of Time series), i suggest you read this book and then begin on the Wheel of Time. Personally i read the WOT series first, but New Spring would be an excellent beginning to the series. For one and all i suggest this book.

The story itself is very well written. While some may say that the book is dull, I believe it covers a lengthy period of time with ease, and quickly familiarizes the reader with the characters.Read full review...

New Spring Quick Review

New Spring was great, I highly recommend it to anyone who loves the wheel of time series, I am glad I read it when I did though. I waited till I read Crossroads of Twilight before I read this novel, (It was published after Crossroads) This really lives up to the rest of the wheel of time series. You could start the series by reading this book, but I would recommend you start at Eye of the World.Read full review...
