Sliding screen door lock

You need to read the instructions carefully when installing this lock (as a replacement for an existing lock). Make sure latch is in open position to insert into cut out (if it isn't in open position it wont fit into cavity). Firstly you will need to insert key and unlock the locking mechanism in the old lock and remove it (after extracting retaining screw from front edge) so that you can unscrew and extract the old lock. This security lock is good BUT ...

Purchased x3 replacement Whitco Leichhardt security locks from Amalgamated Locksmiths in Brisbane. They were fantastic dealing with my issue and sending replacement parts. The issue ... the side housings are not threaded appropriately, and the small bolts provided are really hard to install. They ‘bind’ as they go in and one broke off inside the cast housing. Interestingly the old bolts went in fine ... and are stainless (unlike the new bolts which are not). Product is fine but this issue needs to be addressed 😬 ... all good at the end of the day.Read full review...
