not worth the money/you get what you pay for

The mixer came in good condition, with no dents in the machinery or bowl. However, when I turned on the mixer, there was a obvious burning smell coming from it, and the motor made loud clunking noises. The last word in Stand mixers.

I've recently recieved the KSM90 KitcheAid Stand Mixer and it works really well for a used machine. I've run it thru it's paces and it will take all that I can give it. I plan to have good time with it. One of the most satisfactory characteristics I find appealing is the stability at fullspeed under load. The sound of the motor while it works is so seemly solid, it will be a pleasure to own. The other quality stand mixer I've ever owned was a vintage Dormeyer with all the attachments, bought brand new, but it was smaller and not as powerful, although it to was satisfying, for a long time. The 2nd best !

The 2nd best Mixer out by Kitchen Aid, the 1st is the one w/ the drop down bowl. These mixers are very versatile and basically just as good as a professional Bakers mixer. They are also available in many different stylish colors to accent the colors of your kitchen. This item has a locking bowl that fits into the base so the bowl doesn't move but he mixing attachments do very innovative. Good deal for a used, in good condition mixer!

I bought this mixer because my mixer was falling apart and I wanted to try a kitchen-aid mixer because everyone I know says they are the best. I really like it but, had no idea what the size of it/the bowls would be before I got it. I now wish I had gotten one with a bigger bowl! It works great and looks good but, is hard to pour stuff in and scrape the bowl. I'm not even sure if a bigger bowl size helps that issue or not?! Kitchen Aid is the benchmark as far as the price point and dependability. It is also made in the USA. I purchased the KSM90 300 watt motor. This a good middle of the road choice for a home cook. It has the power to do bread dough, and the speed to cream sugar,or whip cream. KitchenAid is the best aid a kitchen could have.

As a baker, it's very important for me to have a stand mixer so that I can multitask while I bake, otherwise I'd be on one cake for way longer than I should be. KitchenAid mixers get the job done. I had a professional one before, which is great, but I find that this one is much better and usually for a much cheaper price than the professionals. While the holding mechanism is a little less stable and you can't touch the bottom of the bowl while mixing (good for temperature tests or helping to cool down hot items), other than that this mixer is just as good. It's also MUCH quieter than the professional mixer, despite that it goes up to the same speeds, so that's a relief for enclosed area work. In conclusion? Loving it!Read full review...

My Kitchen Aid mixer...a great hand saver

I love the way the Kitchen Aid mixer mixes and just how it works in general. The bowl does not spin but the beaters go around the bowl..diffent concept. Well, I love to cook and bake in the kitchen and some days when I made certain items...like bread for example, all that kneading was not kind to my hands as I was recently diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis is my hands. This mixer actually saves me time and pain because it takes less time than I did to mix and it can handle any job. I can let the mixer mix away while I am doing something else in the kitchen. My mixer came with a dough hook, a flat beater, and a wire whisk. The first batch of cinnamon buns doubled in size...literally had two pans instead of the usual one...I think it was because of the nice even kneading the dough hook could give the dough. I love to make things just to watch my Kitchen Aid mixer work.
When I first received this mixer and I picked up the box, I didn't realize how heavy the mixer was. This mixer is not something you want to put away and get out like I did with my previous mixer. This mixer is best left standing in its own place on your counter. Also, when I first received this mixer, I thought wow...not too many bells and whistles on this mixer because it looked so plain. BUT, this mixer has power and the right speeds and the right beaters to do any job you give it to do. I love to make gingerbread cookies, but even though it is an easy recipe, mixing the dough can be a problem for me because it is so thick and heavy...but no problem with this mixer...I just start putting my ingredients in on low and I can even lock the top down so the mixer isn't going to bounce...this feature is especially nice when mixing heavy dough. The bowl has a handle makes it easier for picking up the bowl. I also received a "splash guard" for around the top of the bowl so there is no mess ouside of my bowl and no splatters.
I really didn't like the idea of paying $300 for a new one so I decided to check them out on ebay. There are many listed and I just began watching them. The price was right, had all the key pieces I needed, so I decided to buy it. I was tickled pink when I won this mixer and I just love it!Read full review...

I recently purchased a little bungalow on the Ohio River as a "get-a-way" from life's stress. Of course, I didn't want to live without the comforts I have at home!! And my kitchenaid mixer was one of the comforts I feel like I need. It's very similar to the one I already have, it is very sturdy, and operates very easily.
