One Of The Best Yamaha Ever Put Out!

Excellent multi-channel capability. Plenty of power to all channels. Great option for pre outs to an external amp. Pure direct is a plus (for stereo only lovers like myself). Plenty analog and digital connectivity! The only minus is the absence of hdmi, for those that can't live without it. Not a problem for me! Nice GUI for set up. The auto set up function is also a plus! It's built like a tank! If you take care of it, it may outlast you! Worth the purchase, even after all these years.Read full review...

Rxv2500

After owning a few Yamaha receivers, this is my favorite. Similar natural sound to the 902, but smoother sleek uncluttered face. I've only used few months, but hoping will last 20+ yrs like my trusty rxv902 has.Read full review...

Outstanding!

My best friend (who lives just across the street) owns the Yamaha RXV1900 Home Theater Receiver that he paid well over $1200.00 + taxes for. Both recevers are rated at 130 watts per channel. After listening to his and my Yamaha RX V2500, in the same living area, using the same speakers, I'm convinced my Yamaha RX V2500 puts out better sound quality even without the MDMI hook-ups his has. Both were tested using his Infinity speakers (over $3000.00) using all 7 channels and a Velodine 10" sub. Even he had to admit mine had a fuller, richer sound and both were set up using the Yapo mike in the same position.

Of course, the real beauty of it is that I purchased mine on eBay at half the price he paid for his!

In summary, if you ever have the chance to own this unit, buy it! I assure you that you'll have no future regrets!

If you forgot the HDMI is an excellent HT Receiver

One of the best Reveicers Yamaha was made, if you forgot the need of the HDMI ports & you just like the audio, it can be one of the best choices to buy, this receiver are THX certified when the newest except the RX-V2600 are not, the power output is excellent & sound powerfull & cristal clear sound, even sound good in the stereo mode with large speakers, is just the balance betwen cost & quality, if you found one below 200 take it is an excellent choice.

The only bad is that this model have not HDMI ports, so you need to wire HDMI devices to your TV set & return sound from the optical audio output from the TV.

Killer Receiver..

As one that simply loves electronics, I was happy to get this receiver. Granted it does not have HDMI, but so what - the difference between component and HDMI is 1080i and 1080p (seen side by side you would be hard pressed to see any difference). The whole downside to purchasing this receiver is that I now need to buy better speakers as my old ones cannot handle the power...Read full review...

Yamaha RX V2500

Wow! What a difference over my old Sony home theater in a box receiver. The surround fields came to life when I hooked up the Yamaha. The receiver is built like a tank but is very sleek. The setup was a piece of cake and the GUI is very user friendly.Read full review...

Yamaha RX V2500 Home Theatre Receiver

This is a very powerful receiver with all the connections needed for a home theatre. Easy to set up and use. A real bargain for less than $200.
