Easy to use and with water adjustment makes good rice

I have learned that I like my rice a little more "al dente" than the Japanese do with this rice cooker ! The "hard" white rice setting is pretty good.... maybe a just little soft. The brown rice strikes me as over-cooked but once I reduced the water it was OK. The black rice using the brown setting turned out better.

Its very easy to use and if you don't mind starting the rice early (since it takes longer than the stove-top), it really does automate that part of the cooking process.Read full review...

Worth the money

I bought this unit after hearing so much on high quality of this cooker on the reviews. Our family has been using the Tiger brand rice cooker for years and we're happy about the quality of cooked rice we always get. So we give Zojirushi cooker a try for what is worth and we are not disappointed at all. It cooks as good as the high quality brand cooker and the rice always comes out fluffy and tasty. This cooker is still made in Japan and so is the other brand that we have in our household. It costs more money than the model made in other country of the same brand but it is well worth the money, believe me. Zojirushi already has a reputation for outstanding rice cookers. This particular unit received high marks by both Cooks Illustrated and Consumer Reports. Really not much to not like.

Unit is very easy to use. Hardness settings are really very useful and won't burn the rice. The cooker is rated for 5 cups but the measuring cup is smaller than normal. Probably 4-1/2 cup capacity which is enough for a small family. These units do take a long time to cook. Nearly double the standard US cookers but the taste and texture of the final product is worth the wait.Read full review...

Simple and easy to operate, super easy to clean and it consistently makes the best rice ever! I use it 3-4 times a week.
