Ecobee puts together a great product. Setting up the thermostat required adding a part at the heater’s motherboard. Ecobee took the challenge out of the whole process. Amazing. Aside from setting a thermostat, the Ecobee tracks your movement around the house and adjusts the heating and cook ling to your location. Hooked up to HomeKit then adds the ability to use the Ecobee sensors to adjust lighting and all other devices to your movements: no Siri involved. Now that is an intelligent thermostat. Amazing thermostat

With its ability to add wireless temperature sensors throughout my house, It is perfect for heating those rooms that do not heat well or the contrary when running the AC. I have turned off the temp sensor of the thermostat itself, since it's located on the upstairs foyer (will be adding one more ecobee downstairs soon).
I am also in the process of installing Keen Smart Vents in each of the bedrooms (with its Smart Bridge hub) to keep the air evenly distributed and while saving energy.Read full review

DIY yourself a favor to controlling the temp and electricity usage for heating and cooling.

The ability to control this thermostat from multiple devices makes it well work the money and time needed to set it up correctly as a DIYer. Be advised that if you have a larger home you should probably also invest in additional sensors.Read full review

Very easy to setup and amazing to control on your mobile devices. I was up and running in just 30 minutes and that is just because I took my time and paid attention to wire guides.

I've only had it installed for a week but so far it seems like an awesome product. I'm not sure I'd pay $275 for it but the deal I got on eBay was amazing! I love the extra sensor that is for both occupancy and temperature. I didn't know it measured humidity, that was a cool extra. Integration with Homekit (Apple's Siri) is fun, you can ask her to make simple changes or let her know when you're leaving or when you're home again.
