SD Card Reader - used to solve problem of downloading pictures with Windows 10

Was looking for a way to download my pictures from my camera SD card under Windows 10. My prior version had it download automatically but not a means to do it in this manner with the newer operating system.
Using a USB connection was the only easy way I found to do this for me. I can now just load my SD card into my new reader and pick the pictures I want to download, copy and paste them where I want them.
Reader works fine. No problems. Very reasonable price too.

Not what it claims to be

The description of this card reader is misleading: I bought it because it said in the text that it would accept microdrives, which is the reason I bought it...but it does not accept microdrives, they will not fit into the slot which is designed for Compact Flash ll drives: the slot is too narrow. I tested it with SD cards and it works but it is of little use to me since I already have readers that are much faster. I needed a reader that accepts microdrives and this isn't it.Read full review...

Buy more than one if you're going to use this

I can't remember my first card reader but I remember having it for several years before it finally died on me. What made the situation even worse was that I couldn't find my regular usb cords that went with my phone and my camera so I had pictures and videos stuck on these devices w/o a way of transferring them to my computer.

I came across this all-in-one card reader and decided I better get a few more just in case. I found one where I got a two for one deal so I ended up having two of these. This was June of last year.

The first one I have used now have a short in the cord. There are two lights that indicate that the reader is working and that it is reading the card. When I go to put a card in only one light will come on and I have to toggle this around in order to get the second light to come on which most of the time don't. It will work from time to time but it has turned into me having torrette syndrome each time I use this. I don't want to use the other one because I know that one will probably last within a year with no problems like this one. I also am afraid to invest more money in a more better built card reader.

I don't know the life span of card readers like this one but I do know that this thing started malfunctioning less than a year after I purchased it and I have since found the cords that goes with my phone and camera just in case both of these readers quit on me.

Great inexpenisve memory card reader

One thing I enjoy about the reader is it can be left plugged in, and memory cards insert and removed as needed. I've used CF cards (from my DSLR camera), micro SD (no adapter needed even), and standard SD and SDHC cards - all with no problems. The reader promptly reads the cards and opens a folder of the contents to copy/cut/delete files like any folder window.

The memory reader though can not use CF micro drive memory cards, such the Seagate ST1 drives and others. The problem is the CF slot is not wide enough to fit the memory cards, and the only problem that can't be solved.

I've bent some CF pins once slightly when inserting a CF card, but was quickly fixed/straightened by inserting it carefully. A standard problem with all CF card readers to be sure, and after using about 30 CF cards so far, I've only had it happen once.

Overall a great buy and worth getting two, that way if you use memory cards as often as I do, you have a backup ready if needed.

Just What I needed.

I have 3 digital cameras and they each use a different type of memory card. This card reader takes care of all of them.

Perfect for my needs

We had one but the pins for the large SD card were bent. This was perfectly priced and exactly what we needed to transfer all the photographs we take during special ceremonies.

lightweight

The shipping was very fast. However, the item will not work on any of my computers that runs Windows 10. I tried the All in one on 3 different computers and it did not work on any of them, All of my computers run Windows 10, so I don.t really need this item.Read full review...

Poor quality

I bought this for the flash card reader function. The slot for flash cards was too tight, had to break off tabs to insert a card. Then, when a card is plugged in, the computer recognizes the card, but will not mount it.

Poor quality product. I would not recommend buying it.
