Classic Diver, Great Value!

The short answer is, this is a great watch and a fantastic value for the money!
While some have complained about the size of the watch, at 44mm I think it's just right! The styling is classic, dial is clean and easy to read and the bezel works fine as it should.
If I were to fault this watch on anything, it would be the band. While it might simply be the size of my wrist, I can't really find a comfortable fit with this band. It's either a bit too tight or a bit loose. Of course, that can be easily remedied with a new band, which I'm keeping open as an option.
Overall however, I think this is a great value and I'm very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the Casio MDV 106-A Duro "Marlin"!

Incorrect time every 2 to 3 days

Hi, I have to reset my watch every 2 to three days as the minutes fall slow I.e today it was 5:30pm where my watch read 5:26pm. I know it’s not a big deal, but if Mum relying of a good quality watch then expect it to be on time, all of the time.Read full review...

Great Cheap Dive Watch

I say cheap, because you’re getting what you pay for, so caveat emptor.

This watch is a stylish timepiece that looks a lot like the Rolex Submariner a few hundred models emulate. The fit and finish are satisfactory, and with the on-board quartz movement should keep time fairly well. A nice watch for most of us Joe Sixpack-types who need a little more rugged timepiece than a $20 Timex, or maybe looks just a little nice. With a metal band, it would look quite dressy!

This watch is not a true diver. Many online complain it fogs internally when worn in the shower. I haven’t torn one apart, but the problem is often a crappy O-ring seal at the rear case and/or improper lube. Poor quality crown seals and crystals can also contribute. At this price point, I’m not expecting miracles and will avoid wet time with my copy. Those expecting a great dive watch will need to budget about $300 for a Seiko.

If you want a bulletproof diver that keeps precise time, you'll need to be looking at Omega, or Rolex--and not likely even reading reviews of this Casio piece.

Bottom line, this watch should do fine for most of us who need a decent timepiece that doesn't look like a hockey puck on your wrist and have to sweat their budgets. If this is you, here’s a good choice. They have them at most Walmarts, too!

A stunning divers watch from Casio. Elegant, durable has adequate features and awesome build quality. Incredibly reliable and accurate. Recommended.

The famous Casio marlin diver's watch called the Casio Duro. The name Duro aptly suits the watch as it is tough and durable. The watch looks very elegant while having a sober design. It is not too flashy nor too understated.

Casio has gone all the way in designing this as a classic divers watch. The features include a nice 120-click unidirectional bezel. The clicking action reeks quality and does not sound tinny like entry level divers watch. The bezel lines up perfectly with the markers on the dial and also has a lume pip on the 12'O clock position. The watch has a proper screw down crown for added water resistant protection. The crown is not too big nor too small and is protected by crown guards. The watch is rated as 200m water resistant which makes it suitable for swimming, snorkeling and amateur diving. The watch case is all stainless steel and has good finishing and quality.

The movement is the usual quartz and is very accurate and reliable. It says Japan Mov't so no doubt it is built to high standards and precision. The seconds hand hits all the markers perfectly which is remarkable in such an affordable watch. The seconds hand comes with a red arrow tip at the end which is lumed and adds to the visual beauty and the red color really pops. The hours and minutes hands are lumed and are sized perfectly. The hour hand has an arrow's look while the minutes hand resembles a spear. The dial has a nice black color and has a sunburst effect. Nowhere does it looks plasticky or cheap. All the hour markers are lumed. To break the monotony of the dial the hour markers at 12, 6 and 9'O clock position are straight rectangles while others are circles. The watch comes with a date complication at the conventional 3'O clock position along with the crown. The watch dial is not too flashy and has a simple Casio branding on top and a marlin fish logo at the bottom. Some people have an issue with the marlin logo, but I for one love it as it gives a distinct character to this dive watch from the marlin series of watches that Casio had released earlier.

The watchband is made out of resin/rubber which is not too bad and does the job. It is comfortable to wear and comes with a nice stainless steel buckle and a resin keeper. There are loads of options for aftermarket straps/bands/bracelets for this watch.

The case back detailing is also surprising in such an affordable watch. The marlin logo is laser etched on the case back along with the other usual information.

Finally kudos to Casio for making such an affordable watch with rich features and robust quality.

Perfect timepiece!

Perfect watch for daily work. Almost indestructible, perfect sizing for even small wrists due to small lugs. Strap is good and tough aswell and works with all nato/zulu straps out there.
Dial is simple to read. Crown is screw down and it seems little wobbly when you unscrew it but it stays in place and doesnt give you cheap feeling. I own more expensive watches that I dont wear on work and this one doesnt fall behind them at all.
Quality and workmanship is awesome when you compare it to more expensive watches.
This is my go to work watch and Im not scared to use it for anything.
If you like simple, no nonsese watch that shows time and you dont like to recharge it like most modern watches, get it. Tough, simple and easy to read dial.
For the price you wont get anything better out there.

Great watch at fantastic price!

There are so many reviews on YouTube about this watch any questions are answered a dozen times already. This is the best watch out there for under $50, $100 or $150, maybe more. All reviews love this timepiece and they are right on. The only dislike is the small date window. I agree a few mm larger would be great mostly for those over 40, 50? LOL. The band is fine, some concerns about the look, I found it great it suits the watch. Some call it a beater watch, its more than that, get a real cheap digital for that and wear this one out. Good Basic Dive Watch

A good basic "Dive" watch. Mine is the black one, though the Blue and the black with gold trim look good too. The pamphlet that came with it was vague, covering numerous models of watches.
I learned from YouTube videos that you must press inwards on the stem to turn it counterclockwise to unscrew it before you can pull out the stem to set the date and time. I suppose this is basic "Dive" watch info, but I'd never owned a Dive watch before.
My wrist measures 7 inches around, and the watch fits fine. The strap is a cheaper rubber, so it may break over time, as I've had that with other Casio watches. There are better looking straps online, and I'm told via the YouTube clips that the lug width (band width) is 22 mm.
One disappointment was the luminosity (or lack thereof) on the watch hands and pips.
I've seen reviews that said it glows well for a decent amount of time. Some said it would easily glow for 20 minutes, which is enough for his dive time. Another said it glowed most of the evening.
Not so with mine. It can sit under a light bulb for a fair amount of time, but the hands glow for only a very short time afterward. And they do not glow brightly at all.

The best value diver bar none.

Many people have lavished glory on this watch and it deserves every bit of it. For the price it's unbeatable. A nice big size. The fit and finish is great and you can get it as wet as you like without worrying. It's tough too. The one to beat.Read full review...

Casio Duo MDV106-1A Great Deal on a Great Watch!!!

This is an excellent watch that is very nicely made. First, I have not had this watch diving because I don’t scuba dive. I have had it wet and submerged in water with no problems so far. Anyway, this watch looks very nice on the wrist and keeps excellent time. No it’s not an expensive watch but if you would like a nice diver style watch you will not beat this watch. The price is also excellent. I know that more information is available on the internet if you need it. I am just here to tell you that this is an unbeatable deal for an unbelievable watch. Amazing bang for buck!

I’m incredibly impressed by the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail on a quarts watch under $50. It’s a perfect size for almost any wrist, it wears beautifully and looks far more expensive than it is. If this was an automatic it would easily be one of my favorite watches. I actually own an Orient Mako and prefer the look of this watch. If you’re looking for a cost effective beater watch or just an inexpensive option for your budget DO NOT pass this watch up.Read full review...

Big River Diver

This watch does everything I ask of it. My last one was a Seiko at $320.00 and the bezel rotated in both directions after about 3 months. Slightly past warranty it flooded on a 40 foot dive in fresh water. Lucky for me that was only a $120.00 repair and a 2 month wait. This Casio has only been to 70 foot a half dozen times but so fa so good. The hands and dots on the face glow nicely in low light. My only worry will be the battery change in a year or 2........will it still be water tight. If not throw it away and buy a new copy ? I wear it every day all day!Read full review...
