Great processor which still works well today!!!

I bought the E6750 for one of my projects, to build a PC under £200. The final cost was £190 and the PC can play Crysis at 30 FPS on very high :).
When building budget, intel is the way to go! People are often surprised when I say this, but the secondhand market for intel is better than AMD's. You can find loads of intel chips at greatly reduced prices that still work well (such as this) whereas AMD's second hand market is relatively expensive when compared to the firsthand market.
The E6750 is a great CPU (even now in 2012) for budget gamers, I promise it won't bottleneck any graphics card and you can pick it up for under £30. On top of all this, the socket used by this is the same used by the intel quadcore series; so there is still room for an upgrade when the quadcores start becoming cheaper.

The Intel Core 2 Duo E6750

The Core 2 Duo series of Intel's processors are currently among the top performing CPUs on the market and have been for the past year or so. They are the best choice for almost everything from Gaming PC's to Work station computers.

The Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 was one of the first CPU's to feature a 1333FSB, this proved useful for gaming PC that would make use of this extra speed in intense gaming. The E6750 is clocked at 2.66Ghz which is one of the faster Core 2 Duo CPU's, if you are wondering why is this better than say a Pentium D at 3.4Ghz then then put it this way a Pentium D is just two Pentium 4 Processors on one Die where as a Core 2 Duo is a true Dual core CPU with two cores would separately, because of the better architecture of the Core 2 Duo the CPU will perform much much better even at lower speeds even a 1.8Ghz Core 2 Duo CPU would be better than a 3Ghz Pentium Processor.
Anyway now thats out the way back to the E6750. the E6750 is much more power efficient than any Pentium CPU and it also runs much cooler meaning you will have plenty off room to overclock the processor. I have my E6750 overclocked to 3Ghz and it runs at 25c with an Arctic Cooler 7 heatsink.

Their aren't many bad points about the E6750 In fact I can hardly think off any, its a brilliant CPU even at stock Speeds and when overclocked to 3Ghz it can out perform almost any CPU in its class including some Quad cores.

SO if you are looking for a stable CPU that will run cool, handle heavy multitasking and max out every game on the market the Core 2 Duo E6750 is the choice for you.

Fast & Cool

By cool I don't mean kewl :-S This processor has superb o/clocking capability and runs quite cool. Highly recommended but beware - make sure your Mobo supports 1333 FSB or can asynchronously o/clock the FSB without altering the PCI bus.

I note that many pre-built systems currently appearing on eBay are using this CPU but with o/clocked Mobo's which don't support native 1333. Just remember that the system may work fine but if you have existing peripherals you want to put in, they may not tolerate an o/c PCI bus...

Dropping this CPU into an LGA775 board with no 1333 will result in the CPU running at a less than optimal speed.

It ran in my Asus P5VD2-MX at 2.13GHz (266*8) and the system blue-screened at 280 with DDR2 667.

All-in-all, very good value for money and will give some of the lower quads a good run for their money until multi-CPU support in software improves.

A cheap and very Powerfull chip from Intel

At first glance, the E6750 looks like the obvious compromise between price and performance in the Core 2 dual-core range. Available for around £120,(igotitfor 34£thank ebay (-:) it boasts a healthy 4MB slab of cache, a solid clockspeed of 2.66GHz and a snappy 1,333MHz bus frequency.

Twice as fast

But is it worth double the price of its entry-level sibling, the E2180? In a word, yes. At stock clockspeeds, it's as much as twice as fast. Frankly, there's performance to spare for most work loads. Even the most demanding hi-def video codecs, such as H.264, pose no threat.

The E6750 brushes such piffling computations nonchalantly aside. What's more, don't let the older 65nm process technology put you off. Thanks to Intel's ongoing development of the Core 2 architecture, this chip has bags of overclocking headroom.

Intel Core 2 E6750

Last year I bought a new PC. I had been reading "Custom PC" magazine and it was their mid range PC choice. It was made by Gladiator Computers from Manchester, England. I was reading a copy of Custom PC when I read a review of this processor. They said that it was a very good buy and that it's stock speed of 2.66Ghz could be overclocked to 3.66Ghz. I decided that I should upgrade my PC and would update the processor and get more ram memory. I condidered the Intel Core 2 Quad E6600 but I had read that many programs cannot utilise 4 cores so elected to buy this one. I fitted it last Saturday and found that without overclocking my PC boots up much quicker than it did with an Intel Core 2 E6600 that had been overclocked 3Ghz.Read full review...

great overclocker

I had been running an amd 6000+ for about 6mths on a foxconn nvidia board with two 8600GTs in sli,it was a great little rig and I could overclock the 6000+ to 3.3ghz on stock with no problems at all(due to the help from nvidia ntune) and that was the tower finished it looked great and ran great. Now I was bored and had read many times of the advantages intel gave over amd,so decided I would build an intel based rig so using ebay, as always, I looked for the parts I could afford and bought some lovely little bargains including the intel e6750 and built my first intel rig when put together it ran lovely although in some respects not as fast as the 6000+ but during gameplay it ran smoother and faster than the 6000+ so in conclusion is a better gaming chip,as for overclocking I run it on stock cooling at 3.6ghz with absolutely no problems at all and am on it now writing this review so would recommend it to anyone who can get it cheap enough ,as the price has to drop due to the release of the e8400 which has a larger ram cache and is part of the newer 45nm family.Read full review...

E6750 Great potential for overclockers

I love this processor it has bags of potential. after lapping the processor (sanding with fine grades of sandpaper from p600 to p2500) it can run with stable overclocking results at 3.66ghz i had it up to 3.85ghz and could have went higher if i had time to play with the voltages more and doesnt go over 45 degrees celcius using an akasa evo 98 blue heatsink and fan (and thats at 3.6ghz!!!!) i am using speedfan to monitor temperatures. currently running at 3.4ghz with no problems whatsoever!!! but my motherboard is limiting further clocking as at 1900mhz fsb it tends to become unstable if i push any further (get a great motherboard and i can see it going over 4ghz easy)Read full review...

e6750

great cpu, multi is locked at 8x though, still overclocks very easy.
ive set mine to 8x425 3.4ghz,had it at 3.7ghz and was ok,could go a little higher, but think 3.4ghz is enough for me,saying that even at stock speed 2.66ghz this is a very fast cpu and will handle anything you throw at it,what ive read there is no gain with this haveing the 1333fsb over the e6700 with 1066fsb.
all in all a very fast and overclockable cpu.
